About this deal

It's epic, touching, sad, dark, and everything I love about Daredevil as a character wrapped up in one. If Frank Miller established this darker and more ruthless Daredevil, Bendis to me expanded this great character work on top of giving excellent character motivation and moments. Daredevil #182-191; material from Elektra Saga #1-4 and Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe(1983). Daredevil: The Man Without Fear #1-5 is also collected in Daredevil Companion Omnibus by Frank Miller, if you have this edition. Brian Michael Bendis begins his run with an arc known as 'Wake Up'. A Ben Urich focused story which sees him investigate the story of a child who can only communicate via comic books. So disturbed after witnessing a battle between Daredevil and Leap Frog, it is later discovered that Leap Frog was the child's father. This story was a consistent five-star hit after hit. Daredevil barely features in the story lest for a few conversations with Urich, and this gave it such a cool noir investigative feel. To begin your run on a title such as Daredevil with a story that basically does not feature the titular character, this was a truly bold move and absolutely paid off. 'Wake Up' set a very good tone for what was to follow. Collects Daredevil (20110 #1-27 & 10.1, Amazing Spider-Man #677, Avenging Spider-Man #6, and The Punisher #10

Also available in hardcover.Daredevil: Cage Match (2010) #1: See Guide to Luke Cage. This is a retcon story of an early meeting between Daredevil and Luke Cage and has always been collected with Cage material rather than Daredevil material.
