About this deal

This will be the only time I admit I love my brother. So, savor it, folks. It’s all you’re gonna get. her suicidal thoughts whilst dark made sense and were so damn relatable i couldn't help but love this girl. Everyone spoke of the book Kellan wrote as the next literary masterpiece. A future classic to be examined in classrooms and referenced for decades to come. I honestly don’t know how to do this justice. Last year I read Devious Lies and in my review said it was one of my favorite books but than failed to put it at the top of my list. I won’t be making that mistake this year.

this book was instead a journey in how the death of a person can ultimately shape the lives of others, people who haven't even had the chance to meet him. Book Genre: Adult, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance, Dark, Death, Doctors, Health, Mental Health, New Adult, Romance Why would Charlotte's boss insist that she visit a gynecologist? 🌚 Reproductive health is important and all, but even if she never made it to an ob-gyn before, it was kinda... her personal issue? Nevertheless, Darling Venom explored some very complicated relationships between siblings and parents. Charlie had the longest, most frustrating and painful journey with her sister. Tiny moments felt so revolutionary once they finally took their first steps towards reconciliation. Leah let Charlie pin her hair😭😭🥺. Last year, I binged read all of Parker S. Huntington’s books and had an absolute delight. And ever since then I had been patiently waiting for a new release from her. When Darling Venomdropped, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I went in completely blind and with full trust of the author.

in part 2 when charlotte became charlie we got to see a different side to her, gone was the suicidal girl instead, there was a girl who has learned to be happy in her own skin, yes she was still having problems with her sister but she never gave up on her. charlie is the definition of resilience, this girl fought for her sister's happiness, tate's happiness/their relationship, & for terry to find himself again. Aside from that though, all the characters in this (with the exception of my Jonah, of course), are one-dimensional. They start off miserable and they end miserable. I didn’t care for the small redemptions some of them had—Leah realizing not everything is about her and finally being the older sister she had to be, Terry saying he’s not a fraud (he is), Charlie…is Charlie, Tate…is Tate, Kellan is…dead. Devious Lies” is the first novel in the “Cruel Crown” series and was released in the year 2019. Emery had this plan to escape from the friend zone. The first step was to sneak into Reed’s room, while the second was to sleep with him. However when the lights were switched on, it was not those familiar blue eyes that she saw. These were dark, angry, and filled with demons. And they belonged to Reed’s much older brother. Entertaining in the sense that it was predictable, bizarre, embarrassing, comedic, and unrealistic.

to those who are having suicidal thoughts or know/suspect someone they know of having them, please know that there is always someone out there ready to help you Still. It made me cry in several occasions. Now if you’re looking for a good cry then please don’t take my word because I cry for everything. —Darling Venomis a story of best friends’ older brother. Of enemies to lovers. To slow burn loves. All and all, it’s a story of family, addiction, redemption, forgiveness, grief and strength. Tissues should be very close when reading this book. The story starts when Charlie (Charlotte) is a teenager and one night she meets Kellan on the roof of their school. Under any other circumstances, they two would not have spoken to each other, but that night they did. And they make a promise. Both of them hold on to that promise for three year, and in the fourth year, Kellan breaks it. Now alone, Charlie is left to deal with the consequences and wonder what happened. One day she meets Kellan’s older brother, Tate, and she begins to find some truths. the ob-gyn finger b Did he believe she wouldn't come to their place that year and thus decided it was his perfect cue to leave this world like a gentleman? If he did, he didn't know Charlotte at all. Which is logical, seeing as their interactions happened once a year for the duration of 4 years, books and notes shared aside.

I guess that part of this indifference is partly tied to the fact that I ended up not liking the main characters that much, after all, and even if I did, I'd still feel like something was missing. Also, some things in this book were very unrealistic. Like, you know, the fact that Terry (The father) plagiarised Kellan’s work. Kellan wrote a whole masterpiece when he was a teenager. HOW? Is that possible? Kellan wrote a whole damn philosophical masterpiece at such a young age. Look at me. At that time, the only writing I did was my homework. But I guess we all can’t be as smart as Kellan, can we? not his ex-fianceé summoning him for a serious talk (he barely listened, not taking his eyes off Charlotte and trying to figure out what she had been mouthing to him from the distance 🌚)but his death was needed for the character growth and progression of not just charlotte, but also her sister, kellans dad, and his brother tate. to me this book wasn't a love story even though we got 3 different types of love: I wondered how the hell I’d noticed that. Hannah got mad every time I’d failed to notice a new haircut, dress, or piece of jewelry. Again, I expected this aspect of the story to match the same tune of the rest, but it didn't, and I'll never not be bitter about it. Yes well, that’s usually what happens when you voluntarily decide to wait in the waiting room after being told the doctor won’t take any walk-ins for reasons you don't know) This is my first book by this author, and I would love to read more by her! I loved her writing style, and there are SO MANY great quotes in this book. I swear I wanted to write down a quote from every chapter.

anyways, this review took so long to write because i always find it hard to explain why i loved a book, roasting is just so much easier 😂 i think this book is worth the read, especially on a rainy day. yes it's long and for some people, it may drag, but i really enjoy long books (zodiac academy and binding/keeping 13 girls will get it), and this was a slow burn at its finest. This is a love story yes but it’s mostly a story about humanity. How far can we break before there’s nothing left to repair? How much anger can one heart encompass before it burns away into nothing but ash? How long can you live inside yourself before the loneliness eats you alive? Huntington's writing is superior; so dramatic, full of chaotic full stops and one-liners that'd belong to a dialogue museum if there ever was one. In the end just like in life things don’t always fall into place like puzzle pieces. Sometimes you need to trim edges or force something square into a round hole. But you make it work no matter what. kellan x charlotte - first love, the one where they change a piece of your heart and mold it in the shape of themwhy did he keep giving hope to Charlotte if he had known beforehand that his decision wasn't going to change?
