The XE75 Pro’s 6GHz performance was also impressive. The router garnered 900Mbps on the 6GHz close-proximity test, while the Asus ZenWiFi ET8 router scored 918Mbps, the Linksys Atlas Max 6E router scored 929Mbps, and the Netgear Orbi RBKE963 scored 943Mbps. On the 30-foot test, the XE75 Pro router matched the Asus ZenWiFi ET8 with a score of 371Mbps and beat the Linksys Atlas Max 6E router (258Mbps). The Netgear Orbi RBKE963 took top honors with 389Mbps. IMPORTANT: To prevent upgrade failures, please read the following before proceeding with the upgrade process Don't be surprised if visitors mistake this Deco for a smart speaker and start barking commands at it. As usual, I put the primary Deco unit in my study and used two of its three Ethernet ports to connect my internet line and an Asustor Drivestor 4 Pro NAS appliance. The second unit went at the far end of the adjoining bedroom.

Clients need to support 802.11k/v/r and may require additional setup. Performance may vary depending on the client device. Admittedly, the Deco XE75 won’t reach the outrageous 150MB/sec speeds that we’ve seen from other Wi-Fi 6E systems. That could be down to the wireless hardware or to the Gigabit Ethernet connection. Whatever the reason, our tests suggest its performance ceiling is around 90MB/sec. Wired: Turn off the Wi-Fi (if any) on your computer and connect to the router using an Ethernet cable. Some official firmware of TP-Link products can be replaced by the third party firmware such as DD-WRT. TP-Link is not obligated to provide any maintenance or support for it, and does not guarantee the performance and stability of third party firmware. Damage to the product as a result of using third party firmware will void the product's warranty. Open Source Code For Programmers (GPL) Wi-Fi 6E is still relatively young, and there aren't too many devices ready to take full advantage of it. TP-Link offers methods to future-proof your home with mesh Wi-Fi sets like this Deco Pro and affordable routers like the fantastic Archer AXE75. Unfortunately, most of the same headaches found with other Deco models persist here.

TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro mesh Wi-Fi review: Cutting-edge 6E

Clients moeten 802.11k/v/r ondersteunen en er zijn mogelijk extra instellingen vereist. De prestaties kunnen variëren op basis van het clientapparaat. WiFi 6E allows for 7 (3 for European Union Member states) additional 160 MHz channels, offeringup to 1,200 MHz (480 MHz for European Union Member states) of additional spectrum for 6 GHz WiFi.

De installatie is eenvoudiger dan ooit– de Deco app leidt je stap-voor-stap door het installatieproces How to set up the HomeShield Real-Time Protection feature on a TP-Link Router/Deco 06-20-2023 40033 Fortunately, the fantastic TP-Link Deco companion mobile app is still regularly updated and is recommended for setting up the XE75 Pro. The process has never changed for their mesh range, starting with one Deco connected to your modem via the fastest available LAN/WAN port. Using the 2.5Gbps port on either, the primary Deco shows a pulsing blue light, indicating it's ready for setup. As for power consumption, the Deco XE75’s energy demands are quite typical for a consumer mesh. I measured an average draw of 11.2W from the main unit, rising to a maximum of 12.9 under heavy load, while the secondary unit idled at 9.8W.

I opened the app, tapped the Let’s Begin button on the welcome screen, and selected the XE75 Pro from the list of supported devices. Following the onscreen instructions, I powered down my modem, disconnected my old router, and connected a Deco node to the modem. I powered up both devices, confirmed that the LED was pulsing blue, and allowed the Deco to join my network. On the 6GHz close-proximity test, the XE75 Pro satellite node’s score of 601Mbps was faster than the Asus ZenWiFi ET8 node (580Mbps) and the Linksys Atlas Max 6E node (598Mbps) but came in behind the Netgear Orbi RBKE963 node (842Mbps). Similarly, the XE75 Pro node’s score of 382Mbps was faster than the Asus ZenWiFi ET8 node and the Linksys Atlas Max 6E node (333Mbps and 218Mbps, respectively) but couldn’t match the Netgear Orbi RBKE963 node's much higher score of 685Mbps. Why does Parental Control show my device has reached the time limit while it actually hasn’t? 06-01-2022 23097Deco works in Router mode by default, please note that the satellite Deco is requested to wired to the LAN port of the main Deco or a switch connected to main Deco’s LAN port to avoid a network loop. When the Deco is set to work under Access Point mode, you can wire satellite Deco to any Deco unit or the main modem/router. In a large home with average internet speeds, the Deco XE75 was right on par with other top-tested routers, including ones that cost a lot more -- but it didn't deliver noticeably better speeds than other systems, including previous-gen mesh routers that don't support Wi-Fi 6E at all.
