About this deal

Figure feels a fear towards fire, this can be proved because in one of the cutscenes of the game it trying to run away from a light fire in the electrical area caused by oil spilled on the floor and a wire which was broken and releases a spark of electricity. Demogorgon first appeared in the original edition of Dungeons and Dragons, in Eldritch Wizardry (1976), and has appeared in every subsequent edition of the game. [17] [18] [19] [20] [21] [22] He has also appeared in other Dungeons & Dragons products, such as in the novel Archmage by R.A. Salvatore and in the video game Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. [ citation needed] In television [ edit ] If the player sees Figure passing by the area they are in, it is advised to stay still as the Figure can hear the player's heartbeat, compared to The Library.

However the player still has to remain cautious. Figure has a chance to deviate away from this pattern. For example, walking into the top left corner of the balcony

Most knowledge on the Demogorgon is highly speculative - even Dr. Brenner admitted that he and his peers had a limited understanding of the creature. That being said, the behavior of the beast is "predictable" as Brenner remarked, comparing it to a typical predator. Nancy made similar associations: she compared the creature to nocturnal predators such as lions and coyotes. She noted that the solitary nature of the creature was similar to that of a bear.

You do not have to worry about recharging your shakelight near Figure, as it cannot sense it, making it a good light source for Door 100, as proven in this video.

An example of Figure patrolling at the aforementioned widely used spot is in this video at 11:05, where the large number of players caused Figure to walk there despite almost nobody walking uncrouched. Figure was originally in a scrapped project where it would rarely spawn as a white, pale zombie, run towards the player on all fours, then kill the player if they touched it. [5] Rudwin, Maximilian (1970) [1931]. The Devil in Legend and Literature (2nded.). New York: AMS Press. p.80. ISBN 0-404-05451-X. Meanwhile, Will's friends Mike, Lucas, and Dustin began investigating Will's disappearance. Mike noted a strange coincidence linking the disappearance with a recent " Dungeons & Dragons" campaign. During the campaign, Will's player character was defeated by the fearsome Demogorgon; hours later, Will had vanished from real life. In addition, Eleven used the game piece representing the character to attempt to illustrate her vision of Will hiding from the creature in the other dimension. This usually happens if the player is killed by Figure as they entered the elevator, or much more rarely, killed due to Void on a successful game of more than 4 players from being the player without an animation. Since the player can move freely within the elevator if they do not have an animation, they might move out of bound, which can cause Void to kill the players.

Figure will roar when it completes a loop in the Library, is about to turn around in the Electrical Room, if it has detected movement/action, if it has detected a player, or is actively pursuing a player. It's better not to hide when Figure is nearby as the sound of entering can trigger it, causing you to play the heartbeat minigame. Only hide when being pursued or when Figure is heading in your direction. Demogorgon also is mentioned in the Book II of the epic poem El Bernardo written in Mexico by Bernardo de Balbuena and published in Spain in 1624. The passage tells how the fairy, "Alcina", visits Demogorgon in his infernal palace: Figure jumpscares the player upon killing them. In first person, Figure will face and grab the player, a light will appear, and it "devours" the player. In first person, Figure will grab and then decapitate the player. The Figure is one of the only entities that 'chase' people. Rush, Ambush, and Seek all simply run to the next door, Halt, Glitch, and Void go towards the direction of the player(s) but won't follow the player if they go out of their path. Snare acts as a non-moveable entity and the other entities will jumpscare but not chase the player as they are scripted to go in the direction of the player.

As of the Hotel+ Update, however, Figure will no longer sense the player's heartbeat, meaning the player can be as close to Figure as they like as long as they do not touch Figure.

Blood Detection: The Demogorgon was strongly attracted to blood and could sense even small amounts from different dimensions.

At the elevator, Figure violently bangs on the door desperately trying to get the player as the elevator descends. As the elevator continues to descend, Figure suddenly jumps onto it, tearing off the elevator cable, and thus plunging it into a free fall. It then falls off into a mineshaft. Note, however, Milton does not refer to the inhabitants of Hell, but of an unformed region where Chaos rules with Night. In Milton's epic poem Satan passes through this region while traveling from Hell to Earth. Many of the scenes with the Demogorgon were done practically, with Mark Steger portraying the Demogorgon in a suit with an animatronic head. CGI was used for scenes that required the Demogorgon to do things a man in a suit couldn't possibly do. Bailey, Kat (2021-08-16).
