Towns and cities in the Drakensberg area include, from south to north, Matatiele and Barkly East in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province; Ladysmith, Newcastle, Ulundi – the former Zulu capital, Dundee, and Ixopo in KwaZulu-Natal; all of Lesotho, whose capital is Maseru; and Tzaneen in Limpopo Province. Some big favourites at our house are Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise by Sean Taylor and illustrated by Jean Jullien, Everybunny Dance by Ellie Sandall, and we also love our BookTrust Bookstart books - Chuffa Chuffa Choo Choo by Emma Garcia and Bouncing Babies by Helen Oxenbury. The gang soon become embroiled in a world of magic and adventure as they discover four warrior dragons hidden in a nearby mountain. Teaming up with the incredible beasts, they enter a huge battle to stop powerful dark forces from destroying the world...

du Preez, Louis; Carruthers, Vincent (2015). A Complete Guide to the Frogs of Southern Africa. Penguin Random House South Africa. ISBN 978-1-77584-349-8. Welcome to Ninh Binh Dragon Mountain, one of the most magnificent places on earth! I’m your expert guide for this adventure and I can’t wait to show you all that our mountain has to offer. As we prepare for our journey, let me tell you a bit about what makes this place so unique. The grassy lower slopes (from 1,800 to 2,500m (5,900 to 8,200ft)) of the Drakensberg in Eswatini, South Africa and Lesotho constitute the Drakensberg montane grasslands, woodlands, and forests ecoregion.

DRAGON MOUNTAIN has all of my favourite things! A rich mythology and a tale of friendship, snarky dragons and daring deeds...this is the kind of breathless tale that leaves you hungry for the next instalment' – Roshani Chokshi, author of the ARU SHAH series Are there any special cultural events that take place at Dragon Mountain? Yes, indeed! Ninh Binh is known for its rich culture and history. There are lots of festivals and celebrations happening all year round in the area. From traditional folk music performances to dragon boat races, the locals love to show off their culture with pride. Residents and community members who used to plan their entire weekend to visit The Dragon Mountain still think of the park with fond memories. Dragon Mountain also boasts some of Ninh Binh’s most scenic trails, offering visitors plenty of opportunities to explore nature at its finest. You can trek through forests or take strolls along paths lined with ancient limestone formations. These walks are perfect for those looking to escape from their everyday lives and reconnect with nature in a tranquil setting. Katie and Kevin We used to live in Hong Kong, and while we lived there we took a trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge in China, and that is where we had the inspiration for the setting of Camp Dragon in the first book. We also get a lot of inspiration for our dragons by watching nature shows. And mostly we are inspired by each other and our own imaginations.a b c d e Alexander, Mary. The grassland of the lower slopes has been greatly affected by agriculture, however, especially by overgrazing. Nearly all of the original grassland and forest has disappeared and more protection is needed, although the Giant's Castle reserve is a haven for the eland and also is a breeding ground for the bearded vulture. 5.81% of the Drakensberg montane grasslands, woodlands and forests ecoregion is in protected areas. These include Kruger National Park, Mountain Zebra National Park, Golden Gate Highlands National Park National Park, Camdeboo National Park, Sehlabathebe National Park, and Tsehlanyane National Park. Encyclopædia Britannica (1975); Micropaedia Vol. III, p. 655. Helen Hemingway Benton Publishers, Chicago. The adventure itself is designed for 10th-15th level characters and is broken up into two parts. The first part, Book 1 of the module, consists of a series of quests to put together the clues to find Dragon Mountain along with a special magic amulet. It's a pretty bland and stereotypical opening, even for Dungeons & Dragons standards. You could probably do with just using your own adventure hooks to get the players to the mountain and the only notable element in Book 1 is the magic amulet, which is so ridiculously overpowered when converted to 3rd Edition that its presence automatically unbalances the game. Since I was new to d20 at the time I let the players keep it. I regretted the mistake once and that was continually. A map of South Africa shows the central plateau edged by the Great Escarpment and its relationship to the Cape Fold Mountains to the south. The portion of the Great Escarpment shown in red is known as the Drakensberg.

In addition to being able to enjoy all these things while visiting Dragon Mountain, paying the entry fee means helping preserve its beauty by contributing funds towards conservation efforts. So not only are you having fun but also doing something good for nature! Conclusion a b Pearse, Reg O. (1973). Barrier of Spears: Drama of the Drakensberg. H. Timmins. p.i. ISBN 978-0-86978-050-3.
