About this deal

All in all, the ES100 MK2 is pretty versatile, fairly potent for driving headphones, and has a low noise floor, being perfect for IEMs too. At the time of writing there is no app support for the BTR3 but they are supposedly working on it and will add a battery indicator, an EQ plus 4 audio filters available. N.B. Concrete curing agents and admixtures and the misuse of these products can impair adhesion. Where doubt exists, or compatibility is unknown, a trial adhesion test with ES100 should be carried out and the Technical Department must be consulted. The app is pretty good. It provides many customizable options, while allowing many to be turned off for those who prefer to keep things simple. It's not without bugs, but I haven't encountered anything serious.

I used a variety of headphones to test the EarStudio ES100, including the oBravo Cupid, the Fearless Audio S8 Pro, the Tin HiFi T4, the ThieAudio Phantom, the HiFiMAN HE560 and Radsone’s own EarStudio HE100. Source files were largely FLAC files in standard 16 bit / 44.1 kHz resolution. Some people may say that a digital piano doesn’t give you the same feeling like a real piano, but this is not the case with the Kawai ES100. Giving you the option of transporting it wherever you need to go, the Kawai ES100 is ideal for when you need to take your musical instrument with you to band practice. BASS of X3II feel less impactfull and full bodied, especially in mid bass where the punch is smoothed while the ES100 is a little emphased and have tigh fast approach that never feel hollow even if not with as much decay than X3II. Perhaps the most underrated feature is the feature that allow the device to stop taking further charge after the battery reaches 80-90 percent capacity. Completely charged is a very stressful state for lithium ion batteries, so this feature could potentially extend the useful life of the device. in “misc control” there are settings related to mic volume, system tone volume, LED colour settings and Bluetooth hands-free profile;

The Radstone ES100 is a phenomenal bluetooth receiver with excellent sound quality, good 3.5 ouput power and powerfull 2.5 balanced output. It have all the features any audiophile could dream of and its battery life is excellent. This take bluetooth sound to the next level with its great dual AK4375a DAC, its DCT technology that transform 16bit into 24bit and L-DAC, Aptx-HD (etc) codec compatibility. Earstudio put lot of work into creating this audio device wich is even more impressive to use with the dedicate application to control it. I really think this is a must have to any phone user that either want better sound quality, more amping for demanding headphones or extra portability that will not drain the phone battery life. Don’t worry if you’re not tech savvy or familiar with audiophile lingo. The Earstudio ES100 works perfectly on its own, you don’t even need to install the app if you don’t want to (though I would highly recommend it). Earstudio is a really nice company, with tons of mini-sized accessories and which offers great warranty for everything they sell. I personally liked some of their products, and also experienced some products that I was not so enthusiastic about. Even for the same product, the HUD100, I loved their MK2 variant, but felt that the MK1 was underwhelming, so they are full of surprises. The BT started to frequently disconnect after several weeks of use, and it only has use as a BT receiver so such is disappointing. It seems to disconnect less after being left off / ignored for several days.. The Ambient Sound feature is interesting, pumping ambient sound into the earphones, eliminating the need to remove good sealing IEMs in some cases, such as to hear an announcement on mass transit.

current mode and the 2.5mm 1x voltage mode now provide the same output level at a give analog volume. It is essential that the applied coating is continuous and free of pinholes or thin patches, otherwise an additional patching coat will be necessary.The Radsone EarStudio ES100 is small, yet this does not stop it from having every possible feature one would want. What it does not offer through the buttons, it does offer through the companion app. Not only does the ES100 perform excellently under all metrics, but it becomes even more versatile and useful when setting it up with the app. There’s a trove of settings that makes it possible to customise the user experience to one’s liking and needs, so that the ES100 is able to do practically anything one wants it to. Its possibilities are almost endless and that’s also thanks to the availability of high-quality codecs, Bluetooth 5.0 connection, high-power output and small size. The treble of ES100MKii is fairly clean, somewhat soft and somewhat smooth, but with enough presence and sparkle to combat the neutral and bright sounding IEMS, especially those from your typical Chifi company like KZ. All in all, the signature is colorful in the mids, relaxing, and punchy, a good combination to turn it up and have fun even in one of those days when you really don’t feel all that Doki Doki. Things like the 4 digital filter settings of the AK4375a DAC, the level of cross-feed and Radsone’s proprietary Distinctive Clear Technology (DCT) will get any audio nerds neurons firing and all can be manipulated within the Earstudio app. Using a slow speed drill fitted with a two bladed propeller (NOT A CEMENT PADDLE), mix the contents for 4-5 minutes to obtain uniformity in colour and consistency. Ensure all materials from the base and sides of the containers are mixed in thoroughly to ensure a uniform cure.

The bass if ES100MK2 is fairly deep and full, with a bit of warmth applied to the midrange too. The bass is not necessarily basshead, but it has good substance, and especially if you have a brighter, or neutral IEM, it should give them a bit more soul and life. Especially with Headphones like HIFIMAN HE400SE (review to come soon), I had an excellent overall experience, with good overall depth, good impact, and excellent overall dynamics. With the Kawai ES100, you can create the musical number you’ve always dreamed of. This should be taken into consideration because most digital pianos that give you this type of performance are usually extremely expensive. Polyphony

Sound

I'm not a big EQ user, because must included with DAP did not work well, but this one take me by suprise and is fun to play with as well. It really can modulate sound rendering precisely and I solve some earbuds and iem sound issue with it, like earbuds that was bass anemic became more bassy without creating distortion or artificial rendering, wich was just incredible really. This EQ is a masterpiece IMO. The face of the unit would’ve been perfect for a display, but there is none, BUT there is a smartphone app that’s really handy, with EQ options, also with a passthrough mode that allows for the microphone to record the ambient noise and mix it with the music. In a simple way, it works as a hearing aid if you want it to, amplifying the ambient noise quite a lot. Gear used for testing include the Sony NW-ZX300 and Shanling M0 as sources (both LDAC) and my Android smartphone (aptX). IEMs tested include Sennheiser IE 800 S, Custom Art FIBAE 3, RevoNext QT2 and TSMR 7-Star. Eartstudio ES100 MKII is an older bluetooth receiver, but one that everyone loved, and is priced at 90 USD at the moment of writing this full written review. It will be compared to FiiO BTR5, FiiO BTR3K, and Qudelix 5K. The ES100 can connect two two devices at a time. It works fine and has remained tied to my LG G6 and Asus FX53V without the need to re-pair throughout the duration of my testing. I'm not sure what Bluetooth codecs my laptop supports, but they're not fantastic as evidenced by the audio delay while watching videos. Connected to my LG G6 over aptX HD or LDAC (defaults to LDAC) there is no delay that I could notice, making for pleasant video

the battery section makes it possible to enable “battery care mode” which only charges the battery to 80-90% and allows it to last longer. It is especially useful if one uses the ES100 mainly through USB. There is also a setting related to charging, which makes it possible to automatically power off the device when the charge stops (e.g. if you use the ES100 as a Bluetooth bridge on your car, so the ES100 automatically shuts down when you turn off the car and then wakes up when you turn the car on). One can also set whether to make the ES100 rely on external power or if it only has to draw power from the internal battery, so that it does not drain the battery of devices it is connected to using USB; You don’t have to sacrifice your musical standards, especially if you can’t afford a real piano. You can create the complete musical experience with this digital piano as you also have the option of adding the sounds of:

Packaging & Accessories

The EarStudio ES100 is a Bluetooth DAC and as such it supports a lot of different codecs: on top of the standard SBC, which is mandatory with Bluetooth audio devices, the ES100 supports AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC. For a long time the ES100 was the go-to choice for those wishing to use a Bluetooth DAC that supported LDAC and thus achieve the best possible quality. Other products now offer the same codec compatibility, but the ES100 remains a great choice! Remove all surface dust, etc., by industrial vacuum cleaning. Machine scarifying or shot blasting will be necessary for removal of incompatible curing agents, admixtures or other stubborn surface contamination. Shot blasting is also recommended on lightly polished surfaces. I will describe overall sound processing of dual AK Dac as extremely well layered, smoothly detailed and wide sounding with lot of extra deepnest to it. It have the capacity of extraction more sound info and give extra excitment to the music you think you know, like if a veil was pulled off wich permit you to perceive whole audio range of your favorite music without it feel artificial or too analytical. As well, I feel it give extra energy and dynamic to the sound, especially mid bass that feel more controled and way less boomy than lot of phone audio, like my G6 or even more my Ipod touch. In some way, if you do not listen to wide music style, perhaps the audio revolution you get will be minimal, but with great quality recording it is an evidence that this bluetooth receiver can transform your music into audiophile experience mustly seen in good quality DAP. there is a slew of options in the “audio input” section: one can see what codec, bit resolution and sample rate are being used, plus set buffer length, set what codecs are available, select which USB DAC mode should be used and whether the jitter cleaner tech should be used or not in USB and Bluetooth connections. There’s also a ton of information on how the ES100 performs with related graphs; The Earstudio ES100 has a hands-free function allowing you to make phone calls even in your headphones don’t have a microphone. The unit’s built-in microphone can also be used for a nifty feature called Ambient Sound that allows surrounding noise to pass through into your headphones.
