Essie Gel Couture ‘Berry In Love’* – ‘a deep, dazzling plum red’. I wasn’t too excited by this until I got it on my nails, when it transformed from a fairly standard pinky-purple into a sumptuous shade of red-purple. This was another two coater. Party season is truly over: I never want to look at another Quality Street ever again, I can’t face the thought of any more alcohol, and it’s really flipping cold. After theOTT glamour of the festive season – all gaudy golds, rich luxurious reds and cosy greens –I feel like I need a bit of a colour palette cleanser before I get into the pretty bright pastels of spring/summer. If you’re the same then you will be as enamoured with the Essie Gel Couture Ballet Nudes collection as I am. Essie Gel Couture 502 Lace Is More Sheer Pink Nail Polish
I really like how healthy Vanity fairest makes my nails look. They look very healthy and glowy. I’m wearing three coats in the picture. With one coat it mainly gives a nice shine, but it looks already very pretty with two coats.Essie ‘At The Barre’* – This is a warm nude that Essie describe as ‘soft cinnamon nude’ but I think is the exact colour of coffee ice cream. I love shades like this on everyone else but on me they’re just not as pretty: the dreaded spam hands appear and you all know how I feel about that. You could probably get away with one coat for full coverage, but I think it looked better with two. I love that Essie have brought out a nudes range with colours that will look good on everyone, rather than the typical shadeswhich tend to exclude WoC. The new essie Bridal 2017 collection is here and they’ve released it in the beautiful Gel Couture formulation. These are high-shine, long-lasting nail varnishes that don’t require a lamp to cure them. I’ve swatched the whole collection below, let’s take a look!

Picture perfect and Hello world definitely have the most pronounced shimmer. Picture perfect was a bit difficult to apply though, and your best option might be to layer it over a white base coat or to combine it with another sheer. Essie Hello world is very pretty, but you must be into the pearl finish that it has. Hello world is a bit streaky on the first coat, but you can definitely already wear it with two coats for a sheerer look. I’m wearing three in the picture. The only downside that I could think of is that you can see some brush strokes because of the shimmer. It has a very subtle gold shimmer running through its base, which you only see if you look really close. I’m wearing three coats in the picture, it’s not completely opaque yet, but that’s how it’s supposed to be. It reminds me a lot of the finish that Essie Ballet slippers also has, it’s not quite sheer, but also not entirely opaque. With one coat, I found it to be too streaky, but you can definitely also wear it with only two coats if you want a sheerer look.Which is your favourite shade from the Essie Gel Couture Ballet Nudes collection? A milky, palest pink-beige that was ridiculously shiny even without top coat and looks lovely and plumped up. I did three fairly generous coats to get this coverage. ALCOHOL DENAT.
