About this deal

The brand has two targeted ranges: Super HA and Super HA Anti-Ageing, both of which will elevate your skincare regime. This product contains paraben (Methylparaben) as a preservative, to prolong shelf life by preventing bacteria and fungus growth. The Japanese brand uses four types of hyaluronic acid which all work on different levels of the skin: Think of oils and waxes; these would be considered emollients. They sink into the skin’s broken protein links, or more simply put, the dry crevices on the surface of skin to make it more pliable. After applying this formula I don’t feel the need to apply a moisturizer anymore lol. (But I still apply my moisturizer) because hyaluronic acid pulls moisture from the environment to your skin and when not coated with a moisturizer (containing emollients and occlusives) then those moisture are going to evaporate. Bottom line is; you have to apply a moisturizer after applying your hyaluronic acid formula.

Hada Labo is a Japanese skincare brand well known throughout Asia, widely available, usually in drugstores.

Who can use Hada Labo Tokyo™ products?

These last few years, I have developed a budding passion for hyaluronic acid and I used all kinds of products containing it: mostly serums, but also creams and essences. I talked about it last year on my blog.

Like collagen (the structural protein that keeps us from aging), hyaluronic acid production decreases with age. Fortunately for us, applying it topically gives similar effects and allows our skin to more effectively hold moisture.

It’s Hada Labo’s brightening/lightening range. In Asia, “whitening” ranges are not made to whiten the skin but more to bring radiance, reduce hyperpigmentation (pigment spots etc.) and sun damages. Having amassed a cult following online, Hada Labo Tokyo™ is popular for its ability to transform even the dullest of skin into something magical. How? With a special combination of powered hyaluronic acid ingredients. Oooh! Hada Labo (which translates as “Skin Laboratory”) is a skincare range developed by the Japanese pharmaceutical company Rohto. Rohto Pharmaceutical Company Ltd is a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products in Japan. Hada Labo does not have a return policy because the brand does not sell their products directly to consumers. Is Hada Labo Cruelty Free?

In our opinion, Labo Skincare products deliver value for money, but take a look at other brands that don’t require you to sacrifice your precious money. Since then, I also used the Moist and the Premium and I discovered the Shiro Jyun version this summer when I went to Thailand (they’re very easy to find in drugstores there). I haven’t tried it yet but I plan to make it part of my winter routine. Richer in texture, it’s suitable for mature and/or very dry skin. It contains 5 types of hyaluronic acid for an action in the deeper layers of the skin. Its ingredients also contain an extract of Sacran algae with anti-inflammatory and highly moisturizing effects. However, unless you live in Asia, it’s not always easy to find and especially at first, it’s also not that obvious which one to choose because there are a lot of different versions. Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Disodium Succinate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid,Hydroxyethycellulose, Methylparaben, PPG-10 Methyl Glucose Ether, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Succinic AcidThe brand favors simple and short formulas, fragrance, dye, and mineral oil free. They are also formulated at a pH between 5.0 and 6.5 to respect the skin’s natural physiological balance. They are therefore perfect for all skin types, even the most sensitive. My husband uses and appreciates it a lot too and I also introduced my grandmother and stepmother to it and they’re now fans! The big change in this reformulated version is that it no longer contains five but seven different forms of hyaluronic acid! Very liquid in texture, it’s more suitable for normal to combination skin. It contains 3 different types of hyaluronic acid and lightening ingredients (arbutin and vitamin C derivative). Just make sure to put it on after cleanser and chemical exfoliates (if you use them) but before other serums and creams. Here’s a sample routine to help you understand what I mean. I’m sure not all these steps will apply to most of you reading this, so just make sure to modify it for what products you’re using.
