Now the headmistress of a private school, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is still struggling with the horrifying, 20-year-old memories of the maniacal killer Michael Myers when he suddenly appears again with a vengeance! And this Halloween, Laurie's rebellious son (Josh Hartnett, 30 Days Of Night), his girlfriend (Michelle Williams, Venom), and their friends will become Michael's newest victims unless Laurie can conquer her fears and put evil in its place once and for all. LL Cool J (NCIS: Los Angeles), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception), Nancy Stephens (Halloween) and Janet Leigh (Psycho, The Fog) also star. believably spent the better part of her life preparing to battle The Shape one more time, all to the detriment of her family and her increasingly fragile it does. For its second release on Ultra HD, Scream Factory has utilized a new native 4K scan of the original camera negative, framed at the proper 2.35:1 theatrical aspect ratio, and graded the image for High Dynamic Range (Dolby Vision and HDR10 options are both available). Like its predecessor, this presentation has also been approved by director of photography Dean Cundey.

Scream Factory’s new 4K UHD Collector’s Edition release may come as something of a surprise considering Lionsgate recently released their own UHD offering in 2018. That 40th anniversary edition featured a 4K presentation purportedly of the interpositive with the darker, more washed-out color timing that has come to be the norm for Halloween based on Dean Cundey’s supervision; it also included the original color timing from a 2007 release, meaning the UHD and Blu-ray discs were decidedly different presentations. that propels him to stalk Laurie Strode, the people closest to her, and those who stand in his way. original film. The blues and reds of the streets or the police lights are far more intense while flesh tones are keen and natural. The macro-level history behind the Halloween movies isn't particularly interesting. After a very successful and genre-defining original classic, the franchise veered into the standard Horror franchise fast lane This, in part, is due to the higher resolution, but also to the HDR and WCG which together add a depth to the picture not seen before. Colours, the most controversial of previous alterations, have been toned down, restoring the blue hues and removing the hotter colours; it now looks far closer to the original and supposedly has Dean Cundey’s and John Carpenter’s seal of approval. Flesh tones are cooler but still retain a natural hue. Greens and reds are also cooler. Blues have been brought out, so that at night the image is sharp!

The disc presents an up-scaled 3840 x 2160p resolution image in the widescreen 2.39:1 aspect ratio, and uses 10-bit video depth, a Wide Colour Gamut (WCG), High Dynamic Range, and is encoded using the HEVC (H.265) codec HDR10. Kirkus. That footage is said to consist mostly of silent alternate takes and outtakes (at least, according to what Don May has actually seen of it).
