To record audio from a PC, the PC needs to output sound over the HDMI output of the graphics card. By default a PC can only output audio to one source at a time. The Live Commentary section will automatically let you choose between any microphones or headsets that are connected to, or built into, your PC. If the capture device is receiving a resolution or frame rate it does not support the No Signalmessage may be shown.

Inside of the Audio menu inside of Settings, we will want to be sure that Sample Rate is set to 48Khz. Our ElgatoGame Capture devices natively operate at 48Khz. Setting this to 44.1Khz can cause audio stutter, audio drifting over time, or other anomalies. Make sure that when you’re working with OBS Studio that 4K Capture Utilityor other capture software is closed. The Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+ can only be access by one program at a time.A processor with a suffix like "U" (Ultra-low voltage) or "M" is not recommended, since it will have significantly lower performance. For example, i7-4510U might seem to be powerful, but the U suffix indicates that it has much lower performance than other i7 processors. A new clip will be created in your Elgato Game Capture HD library, that you can then save separately, or share to YouTube or other sources.

Directshow vs Legacy

To use the basic functionality with Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+, including video capture and editing, your total amount of installed RAM needs to be 4GB or higher. Full and Partial refer to how expanded the range is. Having this incorrectly set could cause your video to appear overly contrasted or faded. If you’re capturing video from a PC, this may need to be set to Full. If you’re capturing from a console, generally Default or Partial is recommended. Buffering Elgato Game Capture devices capture sound in stereo (2.0) format. Make sure the PlayStation 5 is set to output Linear PCM. You may notice you have another source in the list called “ Elgato Game Capture HD” and the one we chose, “ Game Capture HD60 S (video) #01”. The former option was designed for our older ElgatoGame Capture HD and ElgatoGame Capture HD60. But it is not needed for the ElgatoGame Capture HD60 S, ElgatoGame Capture HD60 Pro, or ElgatoGame Capture 4K60 Pro.
