About this deal

It can also be daisy-chained to other FRFR Series speakers, or any active monitor, via XLR Link output, so your whole band can run from a single hassle-free monitor system. There are more similarities between these two than there are differences. Below are just a few of the differences: I use the Alto TS 308 for dialing in tones at home and as a monitor or speaker/amp during rehearsal and the occasional gig. Works good enough for me and has plenty of headroom. As was suggested in this thread, if you use the speaker as a monitor you can get some bass coupling, which you may find gives you that "boomy" sound. But, put it on a monitor or speaker stand and it works great. Indeed the vertical position is preferred as it gives you a slightly better idea of the sound. When used as a monitor the sound you hear seems to be a bit more dependent on your position as a player. The reason is that FRFR 108 is created for use with electric guitar modelers. It would be great if you play in a small practice space or at a lower volume.

The FRFR 108 measures 434 mm x 256 mm x 245 mm, whereas the FRFR 112 is larger and heavier at 605 mm x 354 mm x 35 mm. It combines (2) XLR/TRS 1/4-inch combo inputs, an XLR output, a ground lift switch, a contour EQ switch, and independent volume controls per channel input. Key Features As far as the difference between the Alto and the HR, there is a Youtube video where someone compares the two. In all honesty I could not hear a major difference between the two (if at all). Might be my ears though .....Surgically Tuned, Masterfully Voiced: Hear your rigs as they were always meant to be heard! The HeadRush FRFR-108 features a specially- voiced 8-inch woofer and high-frequency compression driver that deliver a clear, concise and sonically-true full response across the entire frequency range, without any nuisance artificial colouration. Thanks to a conveniently located Contour EQ switch, the FRFR-108 guarantees to cut through muddy sounding stage mixes for perfect monitoring every time! The FRFR 108 is an electrical cabinet, so you can only use it with line level signal inputs. By contrast, FRFR 112 is designed for digital amp model sets. Controls (power switch; 2 x volume control knobs; EQ contour switch; ground-lift switch) (power switch; 2 x volume control knobs; EQ contour switch; ground-lift switch) With a robust, lightweight chassis, a plethora of connectivity options, ample power for small to medium sized venues, expansion options and surgically tuned/voiced speaker, the HeadRush FRFR-108 is the ultimate solution for the forward-thinking guitarist seeking a monitoring or sound reinforcement solution, precision engineered for modelling processors. HeadRush FRFR-108 Specs: The HeadRush Pedalboard and Gigboard have stormed the market with groundbreaking innovation in FX and Amp modelling. Now that you've elevated your rig to the new innovative standards of today's modellers, don't rely on the limited frequency response of a traditional amplifier or PA speakers. The FRFR series have been tailor-made to handle the ever-changing dynamics of modern guitar effects. 12" Version Also Available

In the end, portability made me buy the Alto. It is easy to handle, very light and seems very well built.Additionally, it is useful for those who need a small, tough gadget for clubs and small performance spaces.

The HeadRush FRFR-108 is a 2000-watt full-range, flat-response powered cabinet that complements multi-FX/amp modeller pedals like Headrush Pedalboard, Gigboard and Line 6 Helix processors. 2000W Full-Range, Flat-Response Powered Guitar Cabinet Two XLR/TRS 1/4″ combination inputs, one XLR link output, and one IEC power cable input make up the connectors. Is the Alto comparable to the Headrush? I've read that the Headrush is more tuning to guitar EQ, whereas the Alto has a preamp for vocals. Due to its small size, FRFR 108 is better for smaller rooms and studios. It has a good sound quality for the price it is selling for. It is very simple to use and easily installable. When looking for a well-balanced personal monitor speaker, guitarists need look no further. You need the Headrush FRFR-108! Key Features: Headrush 108 vs 112 both performed very well when delivering bass guitar through. However, FRFR 112 seems to be much more prominent. The FRFR-108 will integrate well with your existing gear and open up a world of new sonic possibilities.
