About this deal

Take the cuttings: Using sharp, clean cutting tools, take cuttings from the parent plant. Ideally, the cuttings should be 4-6 inches long and have at least two or three sets of leaves. Make the cut just below a leaf node to stimulate root development. Create a humid environment: Place a clear plastic bag over the container or use a propagator to create a mini greenhouse effect. This will help retain moisture and create a humid environment for the cuttings. Water and provide proper conditions: After planting the cuttings, water them thoroughly to settle the growing medium around the roots. Place them in a warm, humid environment with bright, filtered light. You can create a mini greenhouse effect by placing a plastic bag or a clear plastic dome over the cuttings. This helps to maintain high humidity levels, which are beneficial for root development. Evergreen shrubs and hedges: To keep clipped and shaped, hedges may require two or three clipping sessions between spring and autumn (don’t disturb nesting birds though). You can use a hedge cutter if you would like a more uniform shape or secateurs to create a natural, bushy appearance. Also see Renovate below. Renovate They're hardy plants, so you can put them outside in spring. Remember to keep an eye on them so they don't dry out and cover them in the event of late frosts.

Softwood and semi-ripe cuttings: Best for evergreen shrubs. Take softwood and semi-ripe cuttings from spring to summer. For best chance of success, choose stems that have their leaf nodes close together and keep the stem between 10-15 cm (4-6in). Very long cuttings are more likely to dry out and fail.An regular application of mulch in the Spring with some slow release fertilizer should increase the flowers on display the following year. Before planting, set up some kind of option for the plant to be able to climb: a lattice, a pergola, a wall or even simply an old tree for it to climb on, unless you’ve chosen a ground-hugging cover variety.

Using a clean, sharp pair of gardening shears, make a clean cut just below a set of leaves. Remove any flowers or buds from the cutting, as they can divert energy away from root development. It's also a good idea to remove the lower leaves to minimize moisture loss and prevent rotting. Fork some well-rotted organic matter into the soil, then grab your best garden spade and dig a hole big enough to accommodate the rootball of your plant. Clean, sharp knife: This will be used to prepare the cuttings and remove any excess leaves or buds.

A brush cutter is a weed eater on steroids. When you need to remove overgrown weeds, thorns, overgrown grass or other overgrown brush, sometimes traditional tools won’t cut it. And that’s where a brush cutter comes in. The 1.9 hp engine gives it plenty of power – I can cut through a 4″ maple tree trunk (and I have!) like a knife through hot butter. Clean and sterilize tools: Before taking the cuttings, make sure to clean and sterilize your cutting tools. This prevents the spread of diseases or pests to the new plants. Use a mixture of water and bleach or rubbing alcohol to disinfect the cutting tools. South-facing walls provide sun all day and are great for encouragingflowers, but the leaves may be scorched and the plant more prone to powdery mildew. Dappled-shade is best for a healthy plant and the best show of flowers.Too much shade will result in an absence of flowers
