About this deal

The Mids are very good. The lower mids are warm and very well placed just as is the upper more natural Mids. They have details but are more relaxed and richer, giving them a very pleasant tonality. In terms of fit and comfort, the Orchestra Lite is very good and fully met my expectations. Despite their relatively large shell size, they fit snugly and comfortably in my ears without any discomfort. However, as with any large earphones, fit can be subjective and vary from person to person, so it’s a good idea to try them on before you buy, especially if you have small ears.

While the comfort level of the Orchestra Lite is generally good, the bulky size may not be suitable for people with extra-small ears, which is a minor downside that does not impact the overall performance. Sub-bass extension is excellent, the earphone can easily reproduce the lowest of the tones without any artificial boost but you shouldn't expect rumbling and thundering bass. For the review you’re reading today, I’ve been using a complex setup of sources, to get the best idea of how KIWI Ears Orchestra Lite sounds like, including Hiby R6 III, Astell & Kern ACRO CA1000T, IKKO ITB03 Heimdallr, Shanling M3 Ultra, iBasso DC03PRO, HIFI Walker H2 Touch, Khadas Tea, Shanling UA5, and Mechen M30. The sound of Orchestra Lite be described as clean, detailed, deep, with a W shaped signature, where the bass is uplifted, the upper bass and lower midrange is not super uplifted, but the midrange is somewhat forward, then the upper midrange is not super metallic or shrill, or too forward, but there is a peak in the treble that gives cymbals and hi hats some extra energy to sound engaging and dynamic / punchy. My listening was done using my Sony NW-WM1A Walkman, and a Topping D30 Pro / A30 Pro DAC/Amp combination. These are highly sensitive IEMs, and you’ll have no trouble driving them with anything, but at this level of quality you’ll undoubtedly squeeze out more listening pleasure with a dedicated amp. The Orchestras performed superbly with my Walkman. To ensure the best performance for the entire lifespan of the IEM, each Kiwi Ears unit undergoes two rounds of quality control inspection by engineers, including frequency matching for both, the left and right channels. Each unit is handcrafted with care and attention to detail by a team of engineers. That's a word just a way to optimize a deficit right? You know when something is not quite complete you go ahead a call it unique. Like the polite way your Grandmother used to call stuff “different”. You remember those times, right? Different was a way of describing things that weren’t exactly correct……..so they were different. But everyone knew what she meant, she didn’t have to say anything more. With the above said, really it’s far more. The bass is unique, unique in that it’s correct but not as physical as found with modern DDs. Sure there is a reason why everyone and his brother put out a DD. And in some ways this particular IEMs represents the past. As I’ve already hinted, this is not a pair of IEMs for bassheads, and I should say that the first time I started playing my music through these my first reaction was ‘where’s the bass?!’. My musical tastes are broad but do lean toward electronic music that often has plenty of bass all the way down to the lower registers. Definitely not the specialty of the Orchestras.

KIWI Ears Orchestra Lite – The Detailed Midrange IEMs KIWI Ears Orchestra Lite – The Detailed Midrange IEMs

SELECT COMPARISONS vs AFUL Performer5 The AFUL Performer5 sport a hybrid design, with a single dynamic driver taking care of the lows and the mids and highs being handled by BA drivers. The mids region is retained at neutral, with only a 2dB difference from 200Hz to 800Hz to provide an ever slight hint of warmth without muddying. The treble has been perfectly matched with the human ear’s pinna perception, with a 7dB peak at 2.5kHz and a slow natural decay towards 10kHz. This precise treble engineering allows every detail and nuisance to be heard, while remaining comfortable and free of any harshness. In short, the Orchestra Lite perfectly reflects the sound of professional studio monitors and is the perfect companion to stage musicians, audio engineers, and music enjoyers who want to listen to music as it was intended. Premium Audio Cable Both share the same sound signature, but the Krila is more technically competent. However, it is less warmer and suffers some metallic timbre, making things not smoother when compared to the Cadenza.

Let's get to my opinions on the sound, I have used a variety of devices including but not limited to my ifi Gryphon, Tempotech V6, Dethonray SG1, TRI TK-2, Questyle M15, Aune S1X, SMSL SP200, and Hidizs XO. Music in formats from High MP3 to DSD. The Kiwi Ears feature 8 balanced armature drivers that help give them their distinct character. Technical Specifications Cadenza offers an interesting amount of subbass and bass, closely following the Harman target curve (although with a slightly increased bass), which may leave bassheads wanting more. Disclaimer: Linsoul sent us the Orchestra Lite for this review. As always, I am here to share my honest experience with the product. Kiwi Ears Stating with the Bass, lower end has a decent and expected BA presence, the Bass is good there is a smoothed but notable impact, nothing like a nice DD but it is more noticeable than the similar Hidzs MD4. Sub-Bass has good impact but is not very speedy, in terms of quality it has a good weight and depth considering this is a BA. Mid-Bass has better speed and tone. Overall, I do like the smooth warm quality these BA bring to the table here.

Since this unit tour was organised by the kindly people at Linsoul, I am grateful to them. And as I've said in all of my evaluations, the same is true for this one: all of the concepts I've expressed below are entirely my own, original ideas that haven't been influenced by anyone else. If interested, go to this link. The high frequencies of the Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite are very smoothly calibrated and carefully tuned to produce natural overtones and ample definition. With all of this said, it would be wrong to think the Orchestras have no bass. One of my favorite albums for testing bass is Baduizm by Erykah Badu. I’ve experienced all kinds of bass responses with different audio setups playing this album, many of them bloated and overblown. With the Kiwi Ears the bass was pitched perfectly and revealed rich texture that stayed light and controlled. MidrangeAs for the midrange, it’s rich and detailed, making it one of the standout features of the Orchestra Lite. Vocal and instrument notes are neutral or slightly warmer than neutral, but not overly so. In the end, I concluded that the brightness I perceived in the top end was in part because of the relative lightness at the low end. Almost as though the whole frequency response curve was tilted slightly up and to the right. Definitely no U-shaped response here, instead the Orchestras provide all the detail you could ask for. Moving on to the bass, the mid-bass is plentiful and warm, which adds to the overall warmth of the sound signature. Thanks to the all-BA driver configuration, the bass is also fast and tight, ensuring that you don’t lose any details in the lower frequency range. There is a warm, sunny space, and a unique comfort that allows you to blend into the music as if you were slumbering. We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature. PRaT, Texturization, Detail, Resolution, Dynamics, Impact, and overall tonality are all revealed by those songs. We recommend trying most of the songs from this playlist, especially if you’re searching for new music!

Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite Universal 8BA IEM - Reviews Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite Universal 8BA IEM - Reviews

The Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite was built on the same foundation as the original Orchestra, yet redesigned to be more efficient, both in performance and cost. The Orchestra Lite features the same 8 balanced armature driver configurations and the famed tonal balance as its predecessor. With close partnership with the driver manufacturers, we have been able to develop custom Kiwi Ears balanced armature drivers that deliver a more efficient performance at the same specs. Cable gets the job done and is sufficient for the most part. You may always use your preferred cable. Gear used for testing includes the SMSL C200, iFi Micro iDSD Signature and the Cayin RU6. The Orchestra Lite requires some amplification to perform best, in my opinion. Nothing too drastic mind you but a dongle DAC at the least will allow it to shine. The Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite is characterized by a fairly balanced and smooth sound signature. While it may not be the most dynamic in-ear monitor on the market, it is not a dull sounding one either. The Orchestra Lite impresses with its natural timbre and well-rounded tonality. The sub-bass region is slightly emphasized, but not to the extent of the Canon, or the Blessing 3. However, it is marginally bassier compared to the OG Orchestra. The soundstage is of moderate size, and the vocals are forward, delivering a smooth and musical tone. This applies for most countries. However, large items such as headphones and desktop DAC/AMPs (e.g. HarmonicDyne G200, MUSICIAN MDP-2, and etc.) are excluded.

In conclusion, the Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite offers a well-balanced and neutral sound signature that is perfect for musicians and audio engineers who require a flat response without any colouration. The soundstage on the Mangird Top is wider than all budget iems that have own and have used before, and the imaging is very precise. This makes the IEM great for listening to music with complex soundscapes and excellent for FPS gaming. I can easily place each instrument in the soundstage or footsteps in gaming. Do you like the bright and cheerful world of Claude Monet's paintings, with their emphasis on color rather than three-dimensionality? The top end on the Orchestras continued the highly revealing theme all the way to the very top. I found them just a little bright for my taste, but not offensively so, and never to the extent of being tiring.
