The peat of other 18-year-old peated whiskeys I’ve had have mellowed down to nuttier notes. Ledaig — pronounced, seemingly impossibly, as “letch-igg”— is produced at Tobermory, the only distillery on the Isle of Mull, which is a bit north of Islay on the western Scottish coast.
