About this deal

More than 2,800 customers have awarded the Miracle-Gro EverGreen Autumn Lawn Care Spreader an average star rating of 4.4. Customers said that the feed was “a good feed for your autumn lawn” and “easy to use and spread”. One reviewer said they’ve been using this last feed for years and noted that it helped stop the creep of moss and improved their lawn’s ability to withstand the winter.

In terms of moss, within two weeks of applying the product, the moss will have died and be ready to rake. As with all moss killers, this may result in some sparse patches directly after raking; however, grass will soon spread into bare areas. The Proctors Autumn & Winter Lawn Feed is intended for use post-summer, to protect and nourish lawns, particularly as winter looms, whilst simultaneously helping kill and control moss. It’s a product that helps combat problems before they arise, or get worse, over winter. The formula contains no phosphorus, and has an NK ratio of 14-5 meaning it’s high in nitrogen, with a reasonable amount of potassium too. MOOWY gives an all-round nutrient boost for your grass, no matter what the season. It’s a slow-release fertiliser that keeps working for 60 days, strengthening plant roots and boosting the chlorophyll in your grass thanks to its high nitrogen content. MOOWY suggests mowing your lawn no shorter than 5cm before spreading the granules evenly and then lightly watering in, regardless of the time of year you’re using it. You should see greener grass within seven days, although bear in mind that there’s no weed or moss killer in this feed. Instead, a lawn fertiliser for autumn has higher percentages of potassium and phosphorous, which are ideal for feeding into your lawn in the autumn season because they encourage root growth and disease resistance. If you’ve recently planted new grass, look for a lawn feed that’s high in phosphorus and nitrogen . Alternatively, for established grass, high-nitrogen lawn feed can promote a growth spurt if the lawn is struggling. A 7kg bag provides 200m² of lawn coverage, and it should be applied once between April and September when the weeds are actively growing, with a maximum of two applications per year and a gap of at least three months between.

In the heat of an English summer, the grass won’t be growing – in fact, it’s more likely to be scorched by any fertilisers. Stop feeding your lawn during prolonged dry spells, and once there’s been a good rainfall, wait a few days then feed again. Aim to feed the lawn every six to eight weeks throughout the summer.

However, if the health of your lawn needs a bit more help than just a bi-annual feed application, you will probably want to choose a product without weed-killing properties. A4: When using this with the Miracle-Gro Feeder, one bag of 500g of feed will treat approximately 100 square metres, given good water pressure. Liquid lawn feed is perfect for smaller gardens or those with no hose, and it can be reapplied every six weeks throughout the summer. As this is purely a lawn feed it won’t kill off weeds or moss, so it can be used in combination with another feed. A 1-litre bottle of Miracle-Gro Evergreen should cover 100m² of your grass. As well as seaweed, this lawn feed contains iron which encourages grass to ‘green up’ and grow stronger. This, combined with the additional nutrients, vitamins and amino acids, helps maintain a healthy lawn with visible improvements in 5 days. Watering-in: If no rain falls within 2 days, water the lawn thoroughly so that the lawn food starts to work.
