About this deal

I decided to put together a monster coloring book for them a few days ago and figured I would share it with you so you could print one for your child as well.

Feelings Monster Worksheet (teacher made) - Twinkl The Feelings Monster Worksheet (teacher made) - Twinkl

Because we like to keep our monsters cute and cuddly you won’t find any scary monsters to color in this post! When the child has colored the monster, it should be reinforced with cardboard and cut out, with an extra half-inch of paper left at the bottom. Small slips of paper can be cut up, on which the youngsters can write anything they want, such as the word homework, and “feed” the undesirable topic to the monster! 10.Hilarious Opera Glasses

The next sheet is all about taking time to separate out and honor each feeling. With the My Feeling Jar worksheet you can clearly identify each feeling experienced and how much of each feeling. You can go deeper with young people and identify triggers, how they felt it in their bodies, warning signs of these feelings, and choices that might be helpful vs unhelpful to honor what is going on for them over the week.

With this innovative craft, your child can create a “friendly” monster and use it for a funny greeting card. Alternatively, they are also a fun and exciting way to round off the final lesson. Great for enhancing focus and concentration, as well as giving young children the opportunity to detach from the challenges they have experienced throughout the school day. Next, each child should have a paper plate colored to look like a pumpkin, with a slice cut out to make it appear as if the top is opening.

Here’s hoping this activity brings you and your clients some superpowers to help untangle those messy, chaotic, and confusing feelings! Remember to read The Colour Monster Goes to School and try our related ideas too! Teaching Ideas and Resources: English SOLO Account Usage: Solo accounts are for use by one teacher/user in a single class setting only. If you are looking to use our resources or any of our schemes such as WellbeingWednesday, Buddy Bots or THINK Maths in a whole school or multiple class setting then a 'Whole School' membership will be required. This is regardless of how many teachers or users are actually 'delivering' the content. Any content intended for use in a whole school or multiple class setting must be supported by a whole school membership. A heart should be traced and cut from colorful paper, and the cutout should be placed in the monster’s “hands.” Next, the children should draw a person–this can be themselves if they want–and glue it to a piece of poster board turned vertically.

Colouring is a significant way of improving a broad range of skills in young children. Here, we look at some benefits of colouring in with your students. How does music make you feel? Think of different songs/styles of music that make you happy, sad, angry etc. Make a list of words that the author links with each colour, e.g. yellow = bright and light, blue = gentle and alone. Can you think of synonyms for these words? Whether you are looking for inventive ways to provide interventional support, or simply looking for ways to keep your children occupied on a rainy day, these Twinkl original worksheets are a great way to enhance engagement. Let’s explore colour some more through messy play! The children might like to experiment with paint or water and food dye by mixing colours to see what new colours they can make. What colours can they create and what feelings do they link with their new colours?
