About this deal

A smirk appeared on Sage’s face. “Oh? Because fifteen seconds ago you asked if I did…” She pretended she was having trouble recalling. “Sports, right?” In Never Mine me meet two women: Sage Carson, a nation-wide celebrity, the first soccer player brave enough to come out in such a straight environment, and Willa Bellamy, who works in a Zoo making contracts and organazing events. They two meet and start a fake relationship that then becomes something more. Oakley wrote a compelling romance with two likeable characters and off the charts chemistry. If you love contemporary romances with great characters and a compelling story then you need this one in your life. Billie, an indie singer/songwriter really wanted to write and perform pop rather than the same old kind of tunes that launched her group, the Shrikes, with her sister and two band mates. Vero, a pop star who left her group, finished her stint in rehab and is trying to launch her solo career has only one problem. She hasn't been able to write any songs! Now that's a problem. The communication of real feelings is a bit of an issue though and I know it is to keep the drama and angst going in the book, but also for the life of me I just want to yell "talk to each other and don't assume!" to these characters.

However, one thing I did enjoy was the way the characters bounced off each other. You could tell from the get go that Sage and Willa really connected as friends and the sexual chemistry between them definitely wasn’t missed either, which then brings me onto the explicit content. I’ve read a few of these books where they start off cute and then bam! They throw in explicit content and I have to say, it does surprise me sometimes but I’d honestly be lying if I said it wasn’t a welcome surprise. Let’s be honest, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of R Rated content every now and then and I definitely wasn’t complaining with this one.So this is a book that's been sitting on my Kindle for a hot minute, and I finally decided to read it this weekend. I've read several others by Bryce Oakley and they're consistently enjoyable books, and she's definitely one of the better self publishers. Never Mine is a fake dating romance with Sage Carson and Willa Bellamy. Sage is a professional soccer player on the ending stretch of her career- especially after a minor ACL tear and the recovery process with that. She's also a playgirl and known for having a good time. When she is offered the potential of a major endorsement deal, she decided to try to play nice to get it. Willa Bellamy is an event planner of the Denver Zoo, but when she receives a bachelorette party invite from her ex that is couples themed, she doesn't want to be the odd one out. So when Sage and Willa run into each other at a high school reunion, they formulate a plan that can seemingly help each other out. But why would you need to fake it when feelings are there the whole time? This book was a nice read after finishing a longer one, this was supposed to be short and fun, but it was a bit more because it turned out to be a bit emotional and charged with real issues like alcohol abuse and in this genre (f/f) that's not common. Instead of blowing up, though, Willa realises that there is an opportunity here for her to bring Sage with to the bachelorette and at least make it look like she isn’t the loser she feels.

I will say I couldn’t stand Ava and didn’t understand why they were all so lovely to her. It’s not one I would re read but made for a good single read romance.Sweet, sunshiny Willa Bellamy has a crisis on her hands. She’s used to it - as an events coordinator for the Denver Zoo, it’s her job to handle crises. But when she receives an invite to her ex’s wedding, she’s not so sure it’ll be as easy to handle as an escaped emu during a Girl Scout sleepover. Even worse, when the bachelorette party invite mentions that couples are welcome, she realizes she’s the sole single person invited.

Sage is not totally sold on the idea of a fake relationship but when she attends her 15 year high school reunion she realises that it may not be the worst plan in the world, especially since she has reconnected with a former acquaintance from school, Willa, and there is just something about this beautiful woman that draws Sage.A cute funny story about two women in the music business and both are already successful and famous before the start of the series. This love it's not only wholesome, but healthy and good for them. They grow because of eachother, they help eachother. It's not just a book about two women falling in love, but also about stand out for themselves, or finding themselves, or how dreams change, or how to help the world in some way. It's about support, it's about communication, it's about trust.

Never Mine is a fake relaionship kind of story between to women, one of whom is a world class soccer player and the other an event coordinator, who get thrown together by a mutual need for a date for an event. Of course what started out as a fake relationship doesn't stay that for long ... Monica: The easy answer is the puns and pop culture references that Oakley expertly infuses into her writing. You aren’t going to convince me that “No, but you’re a fancy person, so the possibility of escargot has escar-lated” is anything other than permanent literary canon dialogue at this point. Right. Totally,” Willa said, making a show of looking at Sage’s own name tag. “Oh, Sage Carson. I remember you played…” Play it cool. “Sports?”Store-bought like, last week, maybe.” Sage raised her eyebrows and took a sip of the clear drink in her hand. “Willa, right?” Billie was only looking to fill some time with an interesting opportunity when she had nothing better to do. Songwriting with Vero was a change-up and unexpected and likely to be a pain, but it was better than nothing and it stood a chance of draining the pop songs that her muse had been throwing up at her since her normal collaborator had gone dry. I liked that she was careful not to prejudge Vero, even though she wasn't perfect at it. And I liked that she kept trying to communicate and understand even in the face of resistance. Now I love a typical faux romance story, especially when it’s F/F. You always know how it’s going to end and this one was no exception but I went into it, knowing exactly what I was getting myself into. Support authors: If you like this and can afford it, consider buying the original, or supporting the authors directly. Why in the world was Sage still talking to her? She turned slightly, giving Sage an out if she wanted to leave instead of chat. An awkward silence stretched between them as Willa pressed her lips together, shifting her weight between her heels.
