About this deal

One other thing to keep in mind is that while the GPD Win 3’s display tops out at 1280 x 720 pixels, it’s a much smaller screen. So it still has a pixel density of 267 pixels per inch. That’s not as high as the 358 ppi for the ONEXPLAYER, but it’s still pretty sharp. So, what's it like to game on? Well, that depends on the game, and whether the Onexplayer has the raw performance to actually handle whatever it is you're trying to do. It's important to note that you're on integrated graphics here, and as such, the very latest triple-A games are going to struggle, especially at the screen's native resolution of 2560 x 1600.

Having used the Onexplayer Mini for a little while now, it highlights a couple of things about this handheld specifically, but also the market in general. The first is that Windows performs an important role in how versatile this handheld is—apps that you know and love just run on it. Got an old emulator you want to try out? It'll take you seconds to see how it fares. Nvidia Frameview? No worries. GoG Galaxy, Epic Games, you name it, they all just work straight out of the box. You can manually rotate the screen from the Windows 10 Display settings menu, but if you do that the mouse mode will still think the computer is in landscape, so you’ll need to push left to move the cursor up, right to move it down, and so on. Unfortunately I do not have an AYA Neo around for testing purposes, but that device has a 7 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS LCD display (216 pixels per inch), an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor with Radeon Vega 6 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of NVMe storage. AYA NeoJust how much bigger is the ONEXPLAYER than the competition? You can almost fit the entire body of the GPD Win 3 in just the screen space of the ONEXPLAYER. At first I attributed this to a Windows Update that I had just installed. I assumed it had somehow overwritten the touchscreen driver, but One Netbook supplied me with the original drivers and installing them didn’t fix the issue. So I did a system restore and re-installed Windows to the state it was in when the computer first arrived. No dice. The touchscreen still didn’t work, and while it’s possible there’s a software fix that we’ve overlooked, I’m starting to think it might be a hardware issue. The ONEXPLAYER is essentially another in the line of [Switch]-styled windows gaming handhelds that presents an opportunity to play AAA games on a handheld device. You can buy RGTA V on Steam and the Microsoft Store. 4. Forza Horizon 4 Forza Horizon 4 features hundreds of cars for you to tear across the British countryside with.

The ONEXPLAYER is perhaps the most…“normal”, of the windows gaming handhelds currently making their way to the market. On the flip side of that coin, it is possible to drain the battery in less than two hours. My results from running the Heaven benchmark give us a worst-case scenario, since the utility is designed to max out system resources indefinitely. I also found that while the ONEXPLAYER comes with a compact 65W USB-C charger that looks more like a phone charger than a laptop charger (thanks to GaN technology), I could also use other USB-C laptop chargers to refuel the computer’s 60Wh battery including a 45W charger for an HP laptop and even a portable power bank that supports USB Power Delivery up to 45 watts. Or you can connect any third-party wired or wireless keyboard using USB or Bluetooth connections. And thanks to two USB4 ports with support for 40 Gbps data connections, you should even be able to connect an external GPU (something I wasn’t able to test, as I don’t have one). Overall the scores are very good. We can’t do a direct comparison with other models as we are using different settings. But it is on par with the ONEXPLAYER 1S in comparison. The OneXPlayer 1S is One-Netbook‘s attempt at joining the handheld gaming PC market. While like the GPD WIN 3 and AYA NEO in concept, the main draw of the OneXPlayer is it’s large, high-resolution display. The main draw of Red Dead Redemption 2 is it’s gargantuan, freely-explorable open world and 40+ hour single player campaign. Flush with high-fidelity detail and immersive design at every corner that really draws the player in, RDR2 can easily eat hours of your time in a single sitting.

Here is my review of the Onexplayer 1S, from someone who thought about getting this system for months and finally biting the bullet. Welcome to our FAQ for the ONEXPLAYER – where we’ll go over all you need to know about this up-and-coming handheld gaming console! What is the ONEXPLAYER?ONEXPLAYER Review: (Handheld gaming PC with 8.4 inch display, Intel Tiger Lake, and built-in controllers) - Liliputing Close Search for: Search The ONEXPLAYER Handheld is a fully thought-out game console and the Gaming Experience is top-notch. Apart from the beautiful display, you have all the tools you need to get your game on!

Also unsurprisingly, the Dell laptop with a discrete GPU comes out ahead in most graphics tests. Here are some 3DMark scores, for example: Mouse works really well. So well, in fact, that I barely missed having a touchscreen. Text input using the on-screen keyboard can be a little tedious, but most other things are very easy to use with just the game controller buttons including launching and closing applications, moving, copying, or deleting files and folders, and, of course, playing games. Running an eGPU setup WILL be prohibitively expensive for most, even more so given the poor availability of graphics cards currently. But it is an option for those interested. [FAQ] ONEXPLAYER Release Date So far I have tried a mix recent and old AAA games and Indie games without any issues. The only issue for me is because i'm an old PC Gamer and not used to using controllers for FPS games it would be nice to have had a tilt sensor which I think might make FPS games easier for aiming, and a built in touch pad for playing management sims and RTS games. But i'm tinkering with settings so getting used to the controls. The only other issue which is more annoying is the SD Card reader speed, R/W is around 20-30MB which is ok for running emulator games but would have been nice to be able to buy a 1TB SD card with fast 100MB+ RW speeds to expand storage.

Uploading
