About this deal

Motion is also decent with only the odd instance of judder with some 24fps material, but this will only jump out at those looking for it, as it is very subtle. It’s certainly cheaper than a typical QLED 4K TV with advanced Dolby Vision HDR – but does it give you a ‘true cinematic experience’ as Hisense claims?

I’ve been PCMag’s home entertainment expert for over 10 years, covering both TVs and everything you might want to connect to them. standard is slightly disappointing with too much brightness in the mid range level of the image, which can make images look a little washed out in dim surroundings. The U6H is far less expensive and offers strong performance, even if it doesn’t get nearly as bright as the U7H and lacks a 120Hz refresh rate. Up to 26% more picture on your screen, fewer black bars at the top and bottom of the picture, and more action are some of the most obvious advantages of this feature.

It allows you to connect your device to a monitor or TV and is able to transmit Full HD video and audio. Facebook sets this cookie to show relevant advertisements to users by tracking user behaviour across the web, on sites that have Facebook pixel or Facebook social plugin. This is, however, a feature-packed mid-range ULED TV with many features adding real performance gains to the picture quality for a TV at this level of the market, so let's take a closer look. But overall, for normal living room duties, it has a decent enough speaker set up and of course, you can add a more powerful off-boardmulti-channel system at any time. As such we feel it deserves a recommendation on those merits, hardcore enthusiasts probably need to look elsewhere, but you already knew that.

There is only one tone map used for mastering metadata differences and anything over 600 nits is clipped completely of any detail. The Hisense U7QF has a number of calibration controls available including a 2 and 20 point white balance for greyscale correction, a gamma adjustment for gamma calibration at 5% levels as well as a full Colour Management System (CMS). SDR HD colour gamut is also decent with some accuracy to the standard and saturation points tracking close to where they should be in the majority of cases. Mini LED is a display development based on existing LED LCD TVs, but instead of hundreds of LEDs and dimming zones in the backlight behind the panel, there are tens of thousands of small (or mini) LEDs and thousands of local dimming zones.

There are also direct-access buttons for various VOD services at the bottom of the unit, which fits neatly in the hand and is easy to use. This is important for TVs at this market position given that owners are less likely to go down the professional calibration route.

It did go slightly higher than this at 25 and 50% window sizes before rounding off at 551 nits on a full field. The newly added Mini-LED technology increases the dimming zones compared to last year by more than a factor of 10 (55" (65"x7. IMAX enhanced certified TV's have to complete rigorous quality standards set out by IMAX, meaning you get clearer, brighter pictures with reduced noise and grain as well as immersive sound thanks to DTS:X.Adding in motion interpolation and the U7K does look smooth, but there are also visible artefacts seen around fast-moving objects. Forget the family Friday night fight for the best seat in the house, with your Hisense TV's wide viewing angles everyone can enjoy a great view and vivid colours from wherever you're sitting. Colors stay fairly accurate when you view the TV from off-angles, but the contrast visibly diminishes and causes the picture to look a bit washed out. The Hisense is a very good living room workhorse that will suit a wide range of consumers and some enthusiasts.
