But it’s fun to collect the various ways that bands such as Radiohead present their product, and there are vinyl goodies galore dotted through their catalogue. Daydreaming is amazing, depressing and it’s video was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, but it’s still not the most amazing or depressing song on the album. Several critics felt the lyrics were coloured by Yorke's separation from his partner of almost 25 years, Rachel Owen, noting that the backmasked vocals of "Daydreaming", when reversed, resemble the words "half of my life".

Especially considering True Love Waits, a song that had been in the works for 20 years, ends the album. Burn the Witch' is one of their most effective album openers - driven by an aggressive string section, the soft/loud dynamics at play are enthralling and XYZ.Burn the Witch' was at least a decade old, but we have no early versions to compare to; 'Present Tense' was virtually untouched from its earliest incarnations as an In Rainbows-era soundcheck. Radiohead's secret weapon Oliver Coates brings the spirit of Arthur Russell back to the dancefloor". The album mostly deals with the topic on finding one´s self in the face of misery, in this case, Thom´s separation from his wife. This was never my favourite Radiohead album, but this pressing is really making me sit up and listen to it again.

I've never owned nor heard the Optimal or Rainbo presses to compare, but judging by the QC issues with both presses, my copy plays relatively flat, centred, and quiet - no need for any wet cleans out of the packaging. Their rejected Bond theme to last year’s ‘Spectre’, does not feature although you can get it on the b-side to the 7″ release of ‘Burn The Witch’. Each loop contains about ¾ of a second of audio – which could be from any era in the band’s recording past going back to Kid A. Famously, though, the album closes with 'True Love Waits' - written as an acoustic number as early as 1995, the song served as a holy grail encore for several tours before being immortalised on a live album.
