About this deal

Once that one is done, I will start on Book Three which is going to be all about celebrating Halloween for the first time in her new human village. It is always very exciting – and slightly strange – to know these are the same words I wrote but not be able to understand them. A wacky, wonderful adventure full of humour, warmth and the occasional twitch of a magic wand to send everything slightly screwy!

BELLA BROOMSTICK SERIES – Lou Kuenzler

I would recommend this book to people my own age because I think they will enjoy it just as much as what I have done. It's her first day at Merrymeet Primary School, which is bound to be better than Creepy Castle School for Wizards and Witches, where Bella almost blew up the dungeon. We’re really enjoying Bella Broomstick as a read aloud – it’s got nice pacing, and is ideal for Smallest (age 6). Luckily for Bella, her new foster parents are much kinder than her mean, old, witchy Aunt Hemlock (who always served frog’s spawn porridge for breakfast). And she’s obsessed with things no good witch would ever need…like toothbrushes, fluffy slippers, and a pink flamingo pen.

It turns out that living with non-magical parents means all kinds of fun new things–like eating ice cream instead of frog spawn porridge and taking hot bubble baths instead of washing in a swamp. Her nasty Aunt Hemlock sends her to live in Person World, and she isn’t allowed to do any magic ever again. Bella Broomstick doesn’t have as many pages as the Shrinking Violet books – an ideal size for a bookworm like H to finish in ONE DAY! This post is part of the Bella Broomstick blog tour – see the banner for other fab bloggers taking part. I would recommend this book to people who like witchy books because this book will really suit them. This book is about a witch who has an aunt that won’t let her sleep she keeps waking her up in the night and telling her that she is a bad witch and will never be any good at doing spells. H was really excited to get to ask Lou Kuenzler some questions too – and Lou herself tells us more about Bella Broomstick.

Bella Broomstick Series by Lou Kuenzler - Goodreads

It is the emotional growth of the character, not nifty wand work, which always triumphs and brings satisfaction in the end … But how brilliant to have a bubbling cauldron of magical fun with potions, spells and flying broomsticks along the way. Behind these friendly central characters, lurks the longer darker tradition of Macbeth’s crones or terrible fairy tale figures like the witch in Hansel and Gretel. Bella Broomstick is about a young witch who is so hopeless at doing magic she is expelled from the Magic Realm and sent to live in the Person World where is fostered by human beings instead.Earth and Wheat - Bread Waste Made For Me - Mum Friendly on Who Gives a Crap Toilet Paper – Paper with a Conscience.
