About this deal

There is still baked in crackle lasting for about 5 seconds of Video Games, otherwise, my copy is pretty immaculate: clean, flat, and centred, as one would hope. Born To Die" follows Lana's first single "Video Games" which began its life online in July accompanied by a video created by Lana. Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. Born To Die" the album is a collection of tracks about which Lana says "The songs I've written are an homage to true love and a tribute to living life on the wild side. Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing Jalen perform live knows that he is one of the most captivating performers on today's soul scene.

It was probably dirty out of the factory from those darn paper sleeves, which I immediately replaced with plastic ones after cleaning and you should too. Video Games suffers terribly, however, in two ways: There are some momentary and very noticable distortions with strong sibbilance a handful of times which has also been reported on other versions, so I'm quite certain this is a mastering problem. Born To Die’, Lana Del Rey’s highly anticipated 2012 debut album, is now available on opaque red vinyl, only at Target. It obviously falls short of being a sonic marvel, but the dynamics are more expansive, and the tone richer than the streamed version. His full length debut on Daptone Records is equal parts raw feeling and elegance and exudes confidence and charm. For whatever reason, this side suffers a lot more than the other sides, even though this side only as three tracks and thus should be less prone to inner groove distortion. The hype sticker attached to the front — 'Limited slipcase holds original "Born To Die" LP' — , does much to sow confusion, implying that this is in fact a double album. I do not have the US vinyl to compare to; I can imagine how cramming this album into a single LP would negatively affect the sound. Comprised of various labels we know and love at Rough Trade (Bella Union, ATO, Speedy Wunderground, Phantasy, Heavenly, Mute and more) PIAS [Recordings] filter through some of the most diverse artistry to our racks, which we greatly enjoy digging into.

Now this copy did have a lot more popping, but i think its because it had paper on it fro the sleeve.I don't see what the confusion is aside from the two releases sharing a barcode but there are two seperate listings on discogs. Warned by other reviews, I ran mine through my record cleaning machine before playing, and was pleasantly surprised. Likely to be a more recent repress than the 2017 deluxe edition release of Born To Die, due to updated runouts in sides C and D.

It's a shame the marketers at Interscope/Polydor felt the need to be 'tricky' regarding what's inside the package. That said, I've had collectors purchase this package for its bonus tracks and, to be fair, that's what's unique about this release. These are things you don't find out until you break the sealed wrapping, which undermines the 'Mint' rating.

I can't really comment so much on the music other than note Lana's voice is presented in the most haunting way imaginable, with reverb applied. Difference is the printed Universal Music Group logo on back cover and the different runout on side B like Born To Die. She lived in a New Jersey trailer park and decked her homestead in flags, streamers and seasonally inappropriate Christmas lights. Now with a massively successful US tour opening for sweet soul darlings Thee Sacred Souls behind him, 2023 is sure to be a propitious year for Daptone's newest signee. The songs are husky and sensual in a way that hits the sweet spot Cat Power has abdicated since The Greatest.

I just received mine and it does not contain Born to Die, only Paradise and a slipcase for the original LP. Sound is overall good, lots of crackling sadly, especially on D side even though I brushed it more than once. I would get this if you are a fan of hers (I mean probably every fan owns this by now, i mean we all know how her fans are). A1-A3 plays without problems, and entire side B and C also plays pretty much perfectly, although there are some minor pops even after a thorough cleaning (the horrible paper innersleaves really does no good for the discs, must be replaced immediately). I would like it if more artists had their music pressed onto 3 sides with the 4th side containing bonus songs.Every song seems the same to me, but Lana's voice is generally in the middle, and it is absolutely about the only thing I really remember. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. Over the last few months he has disarmed packed rooms of rowdy concert goers, leaving them silent as they hold fast to every syllable sung. Like all my "Made in Poland" discs of Lana (which includes Honeymoon and Lust For Life also) there seems to be distortion in the high-end that comes through towards the inner part of the discs on some tracks, although less on this record than on the other two (and really only noticable when listening on headphones).
