This is my first soundtrack/compilation and I do not envy the engineers who have to source the best quality masters from a variety of artists and genres, but they did a great job. The music is used to reflect the time, the characters' family, level of education and "the kind of canon they would be a part of.The 2LP is housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with rainbow laminate finish and includes printed innersleeves, an insert with movie stills, and a poster. Luca Guadagnino wanted the film's music to be connected to Elio, a young pianist who likes to transcribe and adapt pieces to get close to Oliver.

If you hold the album jacket at the right angle you can even see that the yellow text has a matte finish while the rest of the jacket is glossy.

It's like there's space for the numbering on the sticker (a considerable blank space where the number should be), but it's just not there. Guadagnino sought Sufjan's input on the film for his lyricism, both in the voice and the lyrics itself. It includes 2 new songs from Sufjan Stevens,"Mystery Of Love" and "Visions of Gideon," plus a new adaptation for the piano of "Futile Devices.
