To avoid contamination or possible eye injury, do not let the open-end of the single-dose container touch your eye or anything else. They work in various ways – most simply wet or moisturise the eyes, others can remove excess tear mucus made by the eye. This is because there is a preservative in bottles of eye drops which can affect soft contact lenses. If you need to give more than one type of eye drop, leave at least five minutes between applying each type of medicine.

If irritation, pain, redness or changes in vision occur or if you feel your condition is getting worse, stop taking this medicine and consult your doctor or pharmacist. It is used for the treatment of the symptoms of dry eye (such as soreness, burning, irritation or dryness).If your symptoms do not get better after trying 1 or 2 different brands of eye drops, speak to your pharmacist or doctor for advice. If you forget to use your eye drops, use them when you need them next or when it’s time for your next dose. The most common side effects, which happen in up to 1 in 100 people, are burning, itching and stinging. If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist. Mild side effects: Eye drops and ointment can cause mild stinging, blurred sight or a funny taste in the mouth soon after putting them in.

It’s important to get the right treatment, because if not treated properly, dry eyes could eventually cause damage to the surface of your eyes.Make sure that the person supplying this medicine knows about any other medicines that you are using. They may recommend using a brand that does not contain a preservative, single-dose drops or other eye drops for dry eyes. The usual dose for adults and children is 1 drop into the affected eye(s), 4 times a day, or as needed. Common: Eye irritation (including burning and discomfort), eye pain, eye pruritus, visual disturbance.

The recommended dose is 1-2 drops of CELLUVISC ® in the affected eye/each affected eye, 4 times a day or as often as needed.Sometimes, eyes with a dry surface can appear watery, which occurs when dryness is caused by the tear film not clinging to the eye. Occasionally, the drops can cause an allergic reaction with redness, swelling and irritation of the eye or eyelids. Allergic reactions (including eye or eyelid swelling), blurring of vision, increase in tear production (also known as tearing), sticky eye, crusting of the eyelid and/or drug residue, a feeling that something is in your eye, redness of the eye/eyelid, eyesight worsening, eye injury to the surface of the eye due to the tip of the vial touching the eye during use. Advise patient to avoid contact of the container with the eye or other surfaces as contamination leading to ophthalmic infection may occur. There are many different eye drops for dry eyes, but there’s no evidence that one type is better than another.
