About this deal

Super low profile and is therefore easier to clear than other similar models yet provides a much wider field of vision too. The skirt is very polyvalent for all kinds of physiognomies and offers a great comfort even with much extended use.

Having said this, although there are certainly some less-than-superior snorkel masks on the market, there are some great designs out there for snorkelling. For deeper information read the x-rays and Super test articlepublished at the time of the launch of this mask. F1 is the modern single-crystal mask derived from PIUMA model with especially elegant, harmonious and Frameless technology. It is designed for deep dives, as the internal volume is reduced to the minimum thanks also to the two very small lenses. Most scuba diving masks have a frame; a hard bit connecting the glass lens to the skirt (the soft bit which seals to your face). The A1 fit well and did great out in the field, and I found the yellow lenses to function similar to polarized sunglasses—you don’t realize how cool things look with them on until you take them off. Cressi has been the first company on the market to design a mask where the skirt continues its profile with the frame. There’s a note in the mask box that advises wearers not to use toothpaste on the mask to remove the protective coating, something I’ve long done.

The monolens in both the Z1 and the ZS1 has a very detailed profile, made of a number of rounded and straight sides. One of the biggest disadvantages of this mask is that it doesn’t have a purge valve, which means that if you need to clear your mask while underwater you will have to do so manually rather than using an automatic valve like some other masks have. Overall field of view is good and all-encompassing; the shape of the lens expands outwards at the top and incorporates a teardrop shape towards the bottom – this sculpt is classic of many dive masks as it provides good all round vision. Designed with a single wide monolens which gives rigidity to the mask, both the Z1 and ZS1 are frameless solutions. The two narrow lenses are mounted each on one plastic frame, which in turn is mounted on the single main frame.

The mask and lenses are excellent and a real game changer for me so I am very happy with the product. The quantity of internal air space within a mask (the space between your face and the lens/frame) is referred to as its volume.

With that low profile design it brings the glass lenses closer to your eyes so that despite their small size, they’re maximizing your filed of vision so that you don’t have tunnel vision. The straps are really easy to adjust, and they don’t feel like they’re going to cut into your face like many other masks do. If you struggle to find a good mask that fits you because of your nose, then the Zeagle Scope mask has one of the largest nose pockets out there. The connection of the side buckles is directly on the skirt close to the lens, with a thickened reinforced area. The buckles system’s anchorage on the frame avoids deforming the silicone skirt during the mask’s use. The glass lens is Schott Superwite™ UltraClear that has fewer impurities and allows for greater light transmission compared to other glass lenses. Starting off you get a better zippered mask case to look after your mask between dives which is just nicer than those clunky plastic boxes you normally get, and it also comes with a neoprene mask strap so you can pick and choose which you prefer to dive with.
