About this deal

The only issue that I encountered was that I was consistently ripping the cover off of the ball on wedge shots in particular. I didn’t like the way these felt at impact (too firm) and I didn’t feel like they had enough forgiveness for an average “weekend” golfer. It was refreshing overall for a moderate swing speed like mine to play a tour-style ball and enjoy optimal performance from tee to green.

I f**ckin love the distance but my favorite thing about this ball is the soft feel and check/spin around the green. They are the brand’s flagship and aim to compete with balls from legacy brands like the Titleist Pro V1 and TaylorMade TP5. The engine of the 2-piece design is a soft, high-energy core installed to enhance energy transfer at contact for superior spring off the clubface, which helped me produce faster ball velocity and minimal spin on high-impact shots with my woods and long irons. I could notice the difference right away compared to what I normally use but it didn’t really impact the performance.

In closing there are many good DTC options, so Cut should be on your list, as I have tried most of the other brands…. This is why it is so disappointing that it’s June, 2021, the height of the golf season, and you have not had a ball vs ball review in over 2 years. FreeBalls does not exactly give away their product, but their contention is that their subscription model is as close as golfers can get to such a scenario. In his role at Golf Monthly, Chris reviews a broad spectrum of golf equipment, ranging from the latest in golf clubs to what’s new in the world of golf technology. This is always a better option than chancing a golf ball that you think might not be permitted in competitive golf, and it only takes a few minutes to find balls that don’t conform to tournament standards. As an entrepreneur, Ryan is at the forefront of the latest golf trends, reviewing all new clubs, accessories, and training aids. Cut Golf might not be a household name in the golf ball market but the company has carved out a nice niche in a short time by delivering golfers with a strong combination of performance and value.
