About this deal

The series also features Sam Hoare as a new ACC, following the departure of Rakie Ayola at the end of series two. And the way that James ratchets up the suspense levels as the novel progresses is completely brilliant [and undoubtedly a legacy from his horror writing days]. The team splits to investigate a shocking attack on the music scene and a gruesome discovery on a pig farm. Another current release in this genre that is highly recommended is Barry Maitland’s Chelsea Mansions.

Perhaps the novel could’ve been condensed into approximately three-hundred pages but a lot of interesting police and medical procedures would have been omitted. Some picked up on this plot hole, with one person tweeting: "She never gave her name then though did she?Seriously though, this novel caused me to reflect on how I would feel and behave if I had a child who was senselessly killed. Worst of all, he likes to videotape his victims while they are slowly dying in gruesome manners that may offend some readers. Indeed, there is a great scene early in the book when Grace and his younger, slicker, taller colleague, Glenn Branson, discuss – at length – whether you can have an Italian car in black or not. A third series was subsequently commissioned in May 2022, adapted from the novels Dead Like You, Dead Man's Grip and Not Dead Yet. Stephanie Hyam plays Laura Caplan after appearing in A Confession, Jekyll and Hyde, Four Lives, Doctor Who and Gentleman Jack.

James’s ‘Acknowledgments’ pages are well known [possibly even infamous] for their length, and the one in this book does not disappoint. The second series adapts the next three novels in the Grace series, Not Dead Enough, Dead Man's Footsteps and Dead Tomorrow. Filming commences on highly anticipated new crime drama, Grace, starring John Simm, 14 September 2020". Meanwhile, Grace becomes friendly with new forensic pathologist, Cleo Moray ( Zoe Tapper), but their relationship gets off to a bumpy start when she becomes the latest target of a hitman following every moment of Grace and his team. Meanwhile, a former colleague of Grace's from the Met, Cassian Pewe ( James D'Arcy) has been sent down to assist the team, and immediately sets about re-opening the investigation into the disappearance of Grace's wife. She hires a devious hit man, Tooth, to torture and kill Carly, Stuart and the unknown driver of the van. Darryl Dale portrays Tony Robinson with the rising star previously featuring in Silent Witness, Jitterburg, Grantchester, Clique and he will next be appearing in the ITV series Malpractice. A fourth meanwhile wrote: "She had barely said 2 words to him and they weren't her name," as a fifth added: "I said that too!

Someone has sworn revenge and won’t rest until the final person involved in that fatal accident is dead.Mark Griffin takes on the part of Pat Robinson and counts credits in 1986, The Bromley Boys, Strike Back and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Peter James’ Dead Man’s Grip is one of the most intense, most provocative British crime novels I’ve read in years. Cleo is Senior Anatomical Pathology Technician at Brighton’s mortuary, and is in a relationship with Grace. The other character that greatly fascinated me was Tooth, a very professional, military trained hit man who lives in the Caribbean. John Simm leads the cast once again as Roy Grace, while Richie Campbell is back as his partner Glenn Branson.

Following strong viewing figures for the opening episode, a second series of three films was then commissioned in 2021, with broadcasting beginning in May 2022. When parts of a young woman's body are discovered on the Downs, Grace believes the murder is connected to two prior killings involving sex-drug overdoses.
