I enjoyed this quick, fun read, and it was nice to come back to this series and the characters that I have read so much about.

Brandon is a photographer for Westchester Middle School's newspaper, and in Dork Diaries: Tales From a Not-So-Talented Pop Star, it is revealed Brandon plays the drums and joins Nikki's band, "Actually, I'm Not Really Sure Yet". Nikki Maxwell and her band are on their way to Paris, but they run into some roadblocks on the way… And Nikki’s French skills may not be as reliable as she hoped! The main draw of this book is the fact they go to Paris and it feels like they spend more time talking about it then actually being there. But when Nikki overhears mean girl Mackenzie bragging about going to the Halloween dance with Brandon, she's gutted and decides to go to her little sister's party instead. I'll still read the new ones when they come out, just for the sake of it, but I don't necessarily enjoy them.

Until a guy— I think he was the manager— came out of the kitchen and chased me out of the café with a BROOM! in the first book in the mega-selling Dork Diaries series – now with over 45 million copies in print worldwide! My one major complaint about this series is the fact that there are now 15 whole books and Brandon and Nikki are not officially together yet. Dork Diaries follows the chronicles the life of Nikki Maxwell, who is a new student at Westchester Country Day Middle School. The storyline was cute and totally relatable, I remember the age and always feeling like everything was a much bigger deal then it was. It currently has a tentative release date of May 4, 2021, but I hope to have it out sooner than that.
