Connected to my focusrite saffire 56 i dont need an external preamp, it could be useful to get a sound improvement, but its really not necessary cause of the 250ohm it works well with the audio interface. Alas, fixing the high frequency peaks and levels by eye killed that aspect and still left the nastiness that was in there at times.It delivers detailed audio and extremely transparent sound, which is perfect for studio applications.
