Astonishingly, a quarter of a century has now passed since The Prodigy released The Fat of the Land, the inspired rock-rave fusion opus that helped rocket the Essex combo towards superstardom and converted a whole generation of spotty indie kids to the joys of rambunctious rave music. The Fat of the Land was touted as the album that would bring electronica/techno to a worldwide audience (Of course, in Britain, the group already had a staggeringly large following that was breathlessly awaiting the album. In celebration of the 25th anniversary, XL Recordings are releasing a limited edition 2LP silver 12” vinyl package of the original album with a reimagined version of the iconic crab artwork and a brand-new remix of “Firestarter” by Andy C. The Fat of the Land doesn't have quite enough depth or variety to qualify as a flat-out masterpiece, but what it does have to offer is damn good. Still, I have no idea why they published so many wonderful tracks before making this album available.

Is there any way to tell the difference between the original UK 1997 release and this 2012 just by the front/back cover? So for me i felt like 23 again spending my wel earned money on some new music you had never heard before and loving it.
