Wellsley is a strange case; The Fall of Reach mentioned offhand that the Pillar of Autumn had two AIs assigned to it, but The Flood depicts him as escaping to Halo's surface with the ship's ODST contingent, even though Combat Evolved makes no mention of a second UNSC AI working with Cortana.A Grunt who had the misfortune of encountering and surviving John, gets shackled with an overzealous idiot Elite, is beaten up and taken prisoner, and gets front-row seats to Halo exploding. This is supported by the development of the FEH22 depth-duration-frequency model, which has been employed to also investigate uncertainty in rainfall estimates. This project, funded using reinvestment of income from the FEH Web Service, is looking at novel directions to take the current methods for estimating QMED and pooling, using updated catchment descriptions and more hydrometric data. Flood is a beautiful and timely expression of the strength of the Australian spirit during times of adversity.

The very heavy boardwalk was being swept away in the torrent and turned into a dangerous weapon of destruction. It begins as the UNSC cruiser Pillar of Autumn is exiting slipspace (on a randomized vector due to the Cole Protocol) after retreating from the fallen military base at Reach. I like the detail and the emotion in the family members’ faces as they leave their house, while they are in a hotel waiting out the storm, and in the end when they are finished fixing their house and they are having fun.

Flood deals with a very real, possibly disturbing event that younger children might not understand or will interpret differently than intended. The illustrations by Bruce Whatley are poignant, and the language French uses is both poetic and concise.
