On May 11, 2022, Google announced the Pixel Buds Pro, a premium variant of the Pixel Buds, during the 2022 Google I/O keynote. The A-Series support Google’s Fast Pair with Android devices but can be paired with Apple devices and Windows PCs, too.

To address the connectivity issues of the second-generation Pixel Buds, the A-Series earbuds each connect to the device independently rather than using a serial/relay connection scheme.However, These earbuds offer some advantages over AirPods, especially when considering the A-Series has superior isolation. Match the L and R indicators of the earbuds to the charging case magnetized pods and insert the earbuds. They are small true wireless earbuds that, while aimed primarily at Google and Android smartphone users, will perform a good job with any device that can handle Bluetooth 4. Unlike the first-generation Pixel Buds, which had the earbud modules linked by a fabric-covered cable, the second-generation were implemented as two separate earbud modules. In the end, however, their fatiguing sound quality and tough-to-find fit remain the biggest issues here.

When you pair the Pixel Buds A-Series to an Android device, you can even access the Google Assistant with just your voice, so long as you download the Pixel Buds app (more on this in the next section). Clear, balanced and full sound with excellent separation of tones and detail make them ideal for most music genres. The distinguishing feature of Pixel Buds is their inclusion of the Google Assistant, a smart voice assistant. Admittedly, we weren’t expecting much of a difference in performance considering that the design of earbuds haven’t really changed that much.The case is made with some post-consumer recycled plastic, part of Google’s commitment to including recycled materials in all its products launching from 2022.
