It looked like it was gonna be the same boring routine all summer, until one fateful day He's looking at it. Hirsch had said on Twitter that originally, he'd wanted to publish the Journal with the invisible ink notes. On the surface, Gravity Falls: Journal 3 may not be for everyone, but once you take the time to read it you will be pleasantly surprised.

Written as a close replica ripped straight from the show, we finally get to read Ford's words in detail as he describes his time in Gravity Falls, his relationship with his "Muse", and his personal thoughts and feelings through out it all in addition to his notes on the weird. It plays a major role in the overarching story, linking many of its series-long mysteries together before dropping some huge revelations toward the grand finale. It is, however possible, that due to being in close proximity to the rays from the memory gun caused him to forget about its tests. However, in the show, Fiddleford is stated to have founded the society after parting ways with Ford and after he erased his memory, basing the symbol on a crossed-out blueprint of the portal.

The explanation could be that the page exists only in "Abaconings," a story made up by Stan that may not be canonical, and thus the page is not in the real Journal 3. His words are often as eloquent as his handwriting, and his witty quips that fill in the notes of the book never failed to make me smile. As someone who spent a lot of time loving that he finally had a friend to work with (be it Fiddleford or his Muse), he didn't strike me as a "I need to do this alone" sort of person. Before the official title of the book was revealed, it was referred to as Dipper's Journal during the "Gravity Falls revealed" panel at New York Comic Con in 2015.Haven’t got around to it yet, but I’m thinking of making it even better, by piercing a fork through a couple places on the note and painting blood spots on it. But this doesn't make sense, as part of the page has a paragraph, that is scratched out, talking about how great a guy Bill is, which wouldn't make sense if the section was written after Ford found out what Bill was.
