Although most of the excitement of the Hatchimals Wow is hatching the egg, you can play with the egg before it hatches! Just be careful, in the box packaging is the food for the Hatchimal, my children missed it when they were opening it in their excitement and we had to go back to look for it - just worth noting in the excitement of Christmas day!

You can’t cuddle it and be close to it when you are playing with it, as it has to be on a flat surface. If you put the egg top on the top of it's head it's eyes will turn off and it will make curious sounds. Hatchimals WOW are the newest Hatchimals product to hit the market and we were so excited to test one out.

Sometimes you will find it in surprise moods so if you know how to get it into a better mood that is lots of fun. As mentioned above, the Hatchimals WOW Llalacorn has over 250 sounds and reactions, and there is no right or wrong way to play.

You can cuddle the egg and tilt backwards and the eyes go pink but if too long it will go to sleep with white eyes. We found that it helped to have it on a solid, flat surface but it can be a bit frustrating to work properly. We have since gone on to review a number of Hatchimals products, from Hatchimals Glittering Garden to HatchiBabies as well as Hatchimals CollEGGtibles and Hatchimals Pixies. Tickle it's tummy to giggle and if you hold the back of it's head and hold it to your chest at the same time it will be a hug. The first thing I would say here is that I would recommend you watch the Hatchimals online video instructions first – the leaflet in the pack is extremely detailed (and in multiple languages) and not very user friendly at all.

The girls were VERY excited when they first saw the giant egg and couldn’t wait to get started in hatching their Llalacorn!
