About this deal

Heavyweight 1LP in gatefold sleeve, with two posters featuring designs by Ian Emes and Gerald Scarfe. Labels cover etc identifies as the 2016 Euro pressing apart from the matrix which is the same as the 2022 test pressing! Still, this is almost entirely an upbeat record, one made for the packed club than the smoky VIP room; in particular On Top, Somebody Told Me and Mr Brightside are tremendous examples of breathless indie-pop that gallop along like a lovestuck heartbeat with frontman Brandon Flowers gasping for breath on the claustrophobic disco floor.

On July 22, 2013, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) certified the album seven-times platinum; [25] by August 2020, it had sold 2,335,495 copies in the UK. I think this set has the unique video version of All These Things That I've Done, that being the end fades out and has extra backing vocals in the chorus following the 'I've got soul/but I'm not a soldier' bridge. Steeped in the back-catalogue of the Smiths and Pulp, with broad 80s synth sweeps cloaking each tale of fraught metrosexual romance, this band clearly rate the swoon over the swagger. This is disappointing, since Fuss' better moments make The Killers' knack for hooks and cool poses clear.

On Metacritic, the album has a weighted average score of 66 out of 100 based on 20 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". A routinely great artist, much of Sufjan's universal appeal comes from his skills as a gifted narrator, pairing personal musings on love and devotion with commentary on American culture, whilst welding folk and electronica, the ambient and existential. You've Got It Made With All The Toys') features the previously unheard ‘Shadow Man (Vocal And Piano Mix)', an alternative stripped back mix of the Toy album track, along with the unreleased live versions of ‘I Dig Everything' and ‘The London Boys’.

In 2012, Brandon Flowers told NME that he felt "depressed" after hearing the Strokes' album Is This It. Pitchfork may earn a portion of sales from products that are purchased through our site as part of our Affiliate Partnerships with retailers.I suppose it would be a red flag that it says the release is 2011 which would be impossible since Lizard no longer owns the rights. It changes a little bit on certain things, but it was a fairly consistent effect through the whole record.
