For younger kids, play “car” using their dolls/stuffed animals/action figures and have the child switch roles and be the mom/dad who needs to teach the child how to sit safely in their straps while the car is moving. It is a aftermarket product, therefore a parent or caregiver can decide whether or not they would like to use it with their child. To be serious, I don’t really have a solution for you but must stress that, difficult as it is at the time, you must try to ignore the fact that your ‘little darling’ has escaped again and not be distracted until you have pulled up safely. I find it amazing that the ‘experts’ have not so far devised a solution that actually works and does not cost the earth. The results of the test can be found here but in short the Houdini Stop was found not to interfere with the performance of any part of the car seat.
