About this deal

I have a suspicion that there will be a strong correlation between people's attitude towards Frankie Boyle in general and their opinion of this book. Angela Lansbury was so forceful as Momma Rose in 1973 that you felt the character would have been a Broadway star. If you are working towards better self-awareness, this book can provide you with insights to set you on the path toward that goal.

Stuntboy, in the Meantime | Book by Jason Reynolds, Raúl the Stuntboy, in the Meantime | Book by Jason Reynolds, Raúl the

In ten episodic chapters, Reynolds employs fast-paced, realistic dialogue loaded with wordplay and humor. When he is Stuntboy, the young hero isn’t affected by his anxiety, or “the frets,” which are made worse for Portico by his parents’ constant bickering and his relentless bullying by “Herbert Singletary the Worst. There are some great bits in towards the end but you've got to wade through quite a bit of unreliable drug-fuelled narration before that. But the book is proof that Sondheim was throughout his life a restless perfectionist whose gnawing dissatisfaction was the source of great and enduring art.

And more drugs than the whole Trainspotting series - and that's just chapter one - no not really, but almost! I felt supported by her words and think Iyanla Vanzant can clearly relate to her readers, if they are open minded and interested in learning to better themselves and find the love - that they in fact are. It is, above all, a study of the craft of lyric writing: it argues that the three great principles are Content Dictates Form, Less is More and God Is in the Details and goes on to show where Sondheim himself and his fellow lyricists have succeeded and failed. Thanks for the advanced copy I was really looking forward to reading this as I am a big Frankie Boyle fan.

In the Meantime: Finding Yourself and the Love You Want

Parents need to know that author Jason Reynolds and illustrator Raúl the Third collaborated on a masterpiece with Stuntboy, in the Meantime, a thoughtful, funny, engaging graphic novel that looks at how parents' decisions affect kids' lives, even when they're trying to protect each other. And he definitely has his hands full watching out for the castle’s various larger-than-life characters—rolling down the stairs for a neighbor who’s a “little wobbly,” taking a tumble in lieu of shoelace-obsessed Mr. Zola Brawner, best friend for 163 days, offers support, comparing Portico’s fighting parents to episodes of an in-universe television show, but his folks’ dismissals and descent into the “mean time” threaten to worsen the frets. Maybe I’m being unfair in comparing it to another Glasgow comic’s lockdown debut novel … but I did give 4 stars to Kevin Bridges. When we cannot, we engage in meantime behavior - hurting, fighting, not telling the truth, and moving forward in confusion.
