About this deal

If we haven’t yet convinced you that London is really, really into its gin – we present to you: The Distillery.

Our personal fave is award-winning City of London Dry Gin, although we also get a hearty dose of local pride sipping The Square Mile with its distinctive logo. King of Soho is made in the heart of London by Howard Raymond, son of Paul Raymond, the property tycoon who helped revolutionise Soho and make it the wonderful centre for culture it is today. But, history should be respected for what it is – it can’t be erased, cancelled or changed, although many try to do so. The cookie is used to calculate visitor, session, campaign data and keep track of site usage for the site's analytics report. And we thought, what better way to celebrate his life and his Soho legacy than to create a gin in his name? Such was the demand for gin that pretty much anything that could be distilled, was – regardless of taste.

But you aren’t knocking back glass after glass, you are analysing what’s in there, working out what you want more of and then drawing up a profile of what you want your gin to taste like. And so we were keen to be involved and it’s always nice to give people the opportunity to experiment in their own home, to be the king of their own cocktail shaker, if you like. Throughout their business venture, the pair aimed to incorporate their passion and love for life in the product, equally ensuring that it remained representative of that district of London. You should also note that the picture images show only our serving suggestions of how to prepare your food - all table accessories and additional items and/or ingredients pictured with the product you are purchasing are not included. They’re two of our favourite hotspots in the capital for food and drink and we’re pretty confident you’ll love them too. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. This premium quality gin is a tribute to the King of Soho, a man who never settled for the ordinary and challenged the establishment.

Chloe Taylor talks to Alex about her passion for branding and the industry, and gives her advice to those starting out in business. As the city changes shape and waves of younger, fresher faces filter onto the scene, sometimes it’s nice to spend a moment remembering the way the city use to be and, take it from us, it’s even nice to do that sipping on a glass of something tasty. Then there’s two bars, the distillery and the Ginstitute (scroll up for more information about that). Add eldelflower cordial, lemon juice and sparkling water, cucumber and rosemary for garnish - perfection! While the bold and colourful design of the bottles is a nod to the vibrant past, present and future of Soho, the drink itself was inspired by Howard Raymond’s father. But also, as well as rounding the gin off, you end up with a little bit of spice on the back of the palette when you drink it. We adopted that quite wholeheartedly because, number one, I drive the business and it very much suits my persona.
