About this deal

An interesting side note is that sign uses a larger, light grey font on a brick yellow plate, rather than the white font on black plate that is most commonly used in the LEGO Architecture series.

This highly-detailed LEGO model, co-developed and designed by architect Adam Reed Tucker, captures all of the distinctive features that make Fallingwater an architectural landmark. This is a real feature of Fallingwater and perhaps the second-most common point to take pictures of the home.Within three weeks, he began an apprenticeship at the Taliesin Fellowship, a communal architecture program established in 1932 by Wright and his wife, Olgivanna. Wright's passion for Japanese architecture was strongly reflected in the design of Fallingwater, particularly in the importance of interpenetrating exterior and interior spaces and the strong emphasis placed on harmony between man and nature.

A quote in the instruction guide says, “Fallingwater achieves something that no country home successfully had before: it emphasizes, in every place and at every turn, the wonder and beauty of nature in this woodland setting. These attached outbuildings were built two years later using the same quality of materials and attention to detail as the main house. It’s not only considered to be Wright’s greatest architectural achievement, but one of the greatest architectural achievements ever. The house and seven other Wright constructions were inscribed as a World Heritage Site under the title, " The 20th-Century Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright", in 2019. The Kaufmanns lived in La Tourelle, a French Norman estate in Fox Chapel designed in 1923 by Pittsburgh architect Benno Janssen.

As promised, having reached the 100 supporters, I release the instructions of the model (in LDraw format). An architectural firm was hired to fix the problem [41] beginning with the installation of temporary girders in 1997.

Composer Michael Daugherty's 2013 concerto for violin and string orchestra, "Fallingwater", was inspired by the house. In doing so, he limited his palette to two colors, a light ocher for the concrete and his signature Cherokee red for the steel. Fallingwater inspired the fictional Vandamm residence at Mount Rushmore in the 1959 Alfred Hitchcock film North by Northwest. W]hy did the client say that he expected to look from his house toward the waterfall rather than dwell above it?
