David Q: I like it because when we read it, it's like we're in the book and I think this book is amazing. I also wasn't a fan of random capital letters in the writing style - I think that may confused children who are trying to learn the rules of using capitals, and as a teacher reading this story to them I find myself unsure whether to emphasis, raise voice with these parts, or remain neutral. For more Leon and the Place Between literacy activities, as well as a whole range of cross-curricular learning, c heck out our lovely Magic Resources . With his beloved soft toy Lionheart at his side, Richard has the courage to confront his night-time fears.

Every element of the book is filled with wonder, with intricate and busy images busting with tiny details- almost to the point of being overwhelming because there is just so much to see.

The storyline is simple and easy to follow, however as I reader the capital letters in the middle of sentences feel unnecessary.

This is the story of a magic act and a boy finding the place where things go when the magician makes them disappear.
