The story kind of gives mixed messages (though it does address this on the back cover): It repeats on every page "never touch a dinosaur" while encouraging children to touch a dinosaur. It was a hit with my daughter when she was into textures (all animal in the book have rubberized textures: feathers, quills, etc. Story is meh (I feel defiant about all these no animal touching statements 🤣) but the silicone textures are great.

And in my opinion, if you’re attempting to teach recognition of various words, this makes it easier to do. I don’t think it will take too long before toddlers are recognizing certain words and asking you to read this book over and over. This woodland animal-themed touch-and-feel board book is great for children of all ages and fits perfectly into tiny hands. The different “spikes” on each page of the book for the students to feel add such a unique touch to this book.

We may have been the very first family to borrow this from the library, because all the pages were incredibly clean.

The whole “Never Touch” series of books are a must have for anyone who interacts with babies through Kindergarten.Definitely recommend this for the younger ones as they’ll love the tactile feel of the plastic and then begin to enjoy the story as they grow older. My youngest daughter loves the book and has me go through it at least three or four times before moving on. I do wish there was just a bit more to the story but there are a lot of days that I really appreciate the brevity. The colorful pages, interesting text, and of course ability to feel the texture on each page make this a book that’s sure to find its way into your favorite books.
