Every video uploaded to the MyNextbase Cloud can be hosted free of charge for 30 days before being deleted, giving you plenty of time to share the video and make sure you can prove you were not at fault. This uses the G-Sensor to detect an impact even when stationary, and switch on the device’s recording mode to (hopefully) catch a glimpse of whoever or whatever hit your vehicle. Unfortunately the Series 2 Rear Cameras will not work with any other devices apart from the ones I have listed above. This isn’t quite as seamless as the magnetic system we see on premium sat-navs such as the TomTom GO 520. Apart from the handy magnetic mount, this is very much a no-frills device in terms of features, too. The other capability worth mentioning is Parking Mode, where the device will use its G Sensor to detect motion and trigger recording. Regarding the recording lengths, the camera will record continuously in small segments (1,2, or 3 minutes). It easily fits into the palm of your hand, and whilst it’s size has both advantages and shortcomings, the fact is that this device is incredibly discreet and will almost certainly avoid the notice of any thieves. Unless you are driving in very well-lit night conditions, you probably won’t be able to make out much detail.
