They all sound absolute great, they've really put some effort in to the mastering of these to make sure they pop in your ears in all the places - a little quiet maybe on the volume, but not really an issue, and assume that's possibly to do with the amount of tracks they've managed to cram on each slab of the vinyl.

NOW Music is proud to present an edition to our 'Yearbook' family: 'NOW - Yearbook 1985', the 6th addition to our Yearbook '80s. My other gripe with these is the artists which appear more than once in any one year on these albums - just seems unnecessary. More chart debuts from King, Simply Red, Fine Young Cannibals, and The Dream Academy lead toward the disc's closing track from Strawberry Switchblade with the Pop classic 'Since Yesterday'. Kate Bush, is represented by the brilliant ‘Babooshka’ (her second biggest hit single in the UK after ‘Wuthering Heights’ until ‘Running Up That Hill’ superseded it in 1985) and the first CD has contributions from era stalwarts The Police (‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’), Blondie (‘Atomic’), Adam and the Ants (‘Dog Eat Dog’), Dexys Midnight Runners (‘Geno’), Pretenders (‘Brass in Pocket’), The Jam (‘Start! saw British artists achieving unprecedented success across the world with ‘Every Breath You Take’ from The Police being the year’s biggest seller in the U.

Now Yearbook ’85 – Extra will be released early next year and the various artists compilation offers 60 more hits from from 1985. A large number of established artists also scored their biggest ever hits in 1983 : Bonnie Tyler produced a global smash with ‘Total Eclipse Of The Heart’, Billy Joel’s ‘Uptown Girl’ introduced his biggest selling album in the U. More chart debuts from King, Simply Red, Fine Young Cannibals, and The Dream Academy lead toward the disc’s closing track from Strawberry Switchblade with the Pop classic ‘Since Yesterday’. NOW Yearbook 1983’: 43 songs that reflect the charts in the year that ‘NOW’ began… and celebrates the musical diversity of the era – from huge hits that are still played on the radio today, alongside lesser compiled but equally cherished tracks.K., Lionel Richie’s ‘All Night Long’ was the year’s feel-good track, Elton John’s ‘I’m Still Standing’ was an instant classic on release, and Tina Turner hit big with ‘Let’s Stay Together’, which would lead to the huge success of the ‘Private Dancer’ album the following year…. s‘The Edge of Heaven’, two superb chart-toppers and also offers a pair of tracks from new sensation a-ha in ‘The Sun Always Shines On TV’ (which out-charted ‘Take On Me’ in the UK) and ‘I’ve Been Losing You’, the first single from their second album Scoundrel Days. The third disc opens with the breath-taking 'Cloudbusting' from Kate Bush, and Indie anthem 'How Soon Is Now? s‘I’m Your Man’, ‘Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves’, Eurythmics collaboration with Aretha Franklin, Tears For Fears’ Head Over Heels, Howard Jones’‘Look Mama’, Go West’s Don’t Look Down (The Sequel), Thompson Twins’‘Don’t Mess With Doctor Dream’ and many more. I appreciate that there are certain limitations with putting together a compilation album such as international artist participation, etc.

Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at ourwarehouse. The 4CD set (also available in cheaper ‘standard’ packaging) offer 85 tracksacross the four discs and is a wonderful reminder of just how good 1980 was, with its intersection of pure pop, new wave, post-punk, the beginnings of new romanticism, disco hangovers from the ’70s along with some weird and wonderful ‘forgotten’ tracks.Just feels like so far these albums are missing a bit of trick - you'd have never have had any of this on the original UK series, the original compiler Ashley Abram wouldn't have had any of it! I'm really quite enjoying these latest Now series, and have picked up a copy of all years released so far on vinyl.
