It’s good to be back with a children’s book review this week, all about Octopus Shocktopus by Peter Bently and Steven Lenton. its just such a shame that I have to print it all as individual pages because the answers aren't all together.

The worksheet contains 5 multiple choice questions based on the octopus facts sheet, and is sure to test the kids on the information they picked up from it.Slightly disturbing is the fact that these house-enveloping octopuses look kinda impaled on all the roofs.

I recently finished "Remarkably Bright Creatures: A Novel" and am in the middle of an Octy Obsession! But the octopus proves very handy indeed, making a perfect slide, helping out with some painting, and even rescuing a cat stuck in a tree.This is a lovely story and a perfect, pertinent one for 2020 about accepting differences, being welcoming and kind to one and all. The pictures have fun details and the idea of an octopus living on a house would spark several silly conversations about who'd they want to live with them. Peter Bently’s wonderfully crafted rhyming story is brilliant to read aloud, with a bouncy rhythm and hilarious vocabulary which will delight small listeners and is sure to become a regular favourite. Yet, in the brilliantly upbeat rhyming book the initial shock of the surprise visitor soon becomes the new normal.
