Admiral Vernon's Old J is a rum-based spiced spirit drink, and this particular edition is infused with 11 flavours, including pineapple and vanilla for a tantalisingly tropical delight! With a well-rounded taste of spice and toffee, the original Old J is best enjoyed when simply served over ice with coke or ginger beer and a couple of fresh lime wedges. With prominent notes of salted caramel, toffee and spices - it is a dark and moody rum, whilst maintaining a splash of Admiral Vernon’s trademark vanilla and Persian lime.

Old J Rum takes inspiration from and honours this suggestion, using Caribbean rum with a secret blend of spices, sugar, vanilla and Persian lime. Tiki Fire is based on the same recipe as the original spiced Old J, but is bottled at an intense 75. Crafted in small batches from our pot still in the British Virgin Islands and aged in oak barrels for between 12 and 24 months before being blended with our special range of spices, Old J Gold is our pure, premium rum.

Now I’m going to share those serves with you to recreate yourself and hopefully inspire some of your own Old J creations. Blended with spices, sweet vanilla and Persian lime, it took over sixty trials before the right mix of ingredients was found and the smooth and spicy flavour profile was born.

Old J is now available in sixunique varieties, with the same blended base spirit used throughout—except for in Old J Gold, which uses a British Virgin Isles rum from a pot still. Old J Dark Spiced submerges our aged Gold Rum into aphotic depths, creating a tempestuous flavour that can rock the boat or calm the waters.
