This book shattered my heart and was such a moving story of two couples who are best friends and when deceit and tragedy strikes two of them have to stay strong for each other and their partners, and the other two have a lot to answer for. The writing wasn't bad and I might check out more by this author but I was not impressed - I just felt I had to keep reading to see if I thought was going to happen, did happen - it kinda did. I really cannot recommend this one highly enough - it is unmissable and so easily gets all five singing and dancing stars!

And then when they did get in, they needed to suss out whether they had received a Facebook message, a snapchat, WhatsApp, a text, or an alert from an energy company saying that their next electricity bill was going to require them to remortgage the house. I'm not sure whether its another Shari Low book or someone else - okay I've looked at other Shari Low books I've read and it seems to be a motif of hers to bring together a group of people united by a situation in ways that only become clear later on, I've read One Last Day of Summer and that is probably what I was thinking of, although The Story of Our Secrets has a similar vibe.

It's definitely an engaging read with some sweet moments, but I couldn't help feeling that it could have been better. I did have some difficulty initially getting into this read and dallied over the opening chapters for a few days. I really enjoy this book, and although some of it was predictable, the characters bring this story to life. She takes help from her next-door neighbor Nancy Jenkins, unaware that Max is not where he said he would be.Nancy mumbled, pulling her bag onto her lap and having a rummage, before finally liberating her phone. Enjoyable book about a woman who goes into labor but cannot get in touch with her husband who is supposed to be at a work conference.
