The story theme was about false appearances, people acting on the surface in civilized and splendid fakery, like the elegant dancing of 18th century Baroque minuets.It will make you want to rent a beach house in Nags Head on the Outer Banks, a place that I have never visited, but feel I can vividly imagine after reading this book.
