About this deal

Working days are defined as Monday-Friday 8am-7pm inclusive, excluding Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. You can get a relatively smooth finish if you apply it correctly, but a little sanding to remove small tram lines is very quick. Using the roller isn't easy, and it takes time put it on, but work in roughly 1m squared areas at a time starting from the middle of the wall and work out. I did the entire ceiling and thankfully due to thinning it out I was able to smooth it over with plenty of time.

Always ensure the surface to be painted is free from dirt and any contaminates that may affect adhesion. It dried well and though I've had to do a fair bit of sanding it finally looks good only through my own improvisation. I also intend to contact polycell and ask them why they have the nerve to sell a product that blatantly does not work as advertised. Polycell SmoothOver Your Damaged Walls is for experienced DIY ers only, anyone can not use it as led to believe. Impossible to smooth over without getting patchy bits - in fact I think my walls were a lot smoother before I put this stuff on - now having to re-sand the whole wall - thankfully I have only used it on a test area and will not be using it on the rest of my walls. We haven’t just added random products we’ve hand selected what we would recommend to use with Polycell Polyfilla Smoothover Tool Set including our most suitable tools for application and preparation.

Polycell Smoothover For Damaged / Textured Walls | PaintWell

I think its good for doing smallish areas, but if you have to do large areas then why not just use one coat plaster? Smooth off using the SmoothOver Wiper in an arc over the surface, ensuring the texture is fully covered. infact we used it on our brest of the fireplace which we used as a colour swatch previously not only did it smooth the walls and take out the dents it also hid the dark chocolate paint so you dont need baseover.Missed payments may affect your ability to use Clearpay in the future and your details may be passed onto a debt collection agency working on Clearpay's behalf. I now have to sand down the walls to try to get a reasonably smooth finish, which was what I hoped to avoid when I bought the product in the first place! Finally i went over the whole wall with an orbital and a fine grade sandpaper, this may seem a bit excessive to some people, but i wanted a really good finish.

SmoothOver How to Get Rid of Textured Walls With Polycell SmoothOver

If you have a mixture of emulsioned walls and plaster then it vures quicker on the plaster and then leaves mounds in the plastered places; big mounds. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS MAKE SURE BEFORE USE YOU MIX WELL so that is it easier to stick to walls, MAKE SURE you roll the mix on first then use the scrapper to remove the excess back into the pot, last when dry sand lightly. I persevered with the useless roller and ended up trying to trowel on the mixture, much of which ended up on the floor, just to get some on the walls. PaintWell increased its Industrial Paints offering with the acquisition of Promain UK Limited, the preferred UK distributor for many of the world’s leading paint and surface coatings manufacturers. Perhaps for small areas it'll work but large areas don't give yourself the stress of seeing it fail unless like me you've got a lot of patience.Feeling very tired and dejected having had another recent session with the stuff and wondering if hiring a plasterer would have been more cost effective and less hassle. I had to use a combination of a plasterers tool and the smoothover blade, which made using this product a lot easier. Im, not going to say it was really easy, but as long as you spend time on mixing the product properly there was no issue of it not sticking to the roller. My wall was not bad, but I wanted to emulsion it so needed to get out minor indents and smooth minor rough areas.

I managed to do the whole wall, it didnt leave a perfect finish, however i just went over a few areas with the product and a spatula to fill any small gaps. Specially designed for use with Polyfilla SmoothOver, this toolset makes it easy to achieve a perfectly smooth surface on textured and damaged walls. This product is probably OK to use on a small area, but in retrospect I would have gone down a different route as far as my hall is concerned and I strongly feel the advert is very misleading as to ease of use.Smooth off using the SmoothOver Wiper in an arc over the surface of the product, ensuring that all texture is fully covered.
