About this deal

The book is repetitive reminding young Readers that everybody poops, children, adults, animals, even superheroes. According to Melissa Halas, a Pediatric Nutritionist, author of the Super Crew books, and fellow Mama — the struggle for some kids to poop, “often comes down to fiber, diet, exercise, sedentary behaviors, hydration, position, and stress,” says Halas. If you haven’t eaten any of the foods mentioned above that could turn your poop this color, consult with a healthcare professional as soon as possible.

I loved how this children’s book is so inclusive about how everyone poops; different professions, different nationalities, and even the animals and insects! Her first book with Candlewick Press, BIG BLUE WHALE, was hailed by American Bookseller as an "artfully composed study" offering "language exactly appropriate for four- to seven-year-olds and precisely the right amount of information. The exceptional combination of Nicola Davies's zoological expertise and her first-rate children's writing is apparent in her remarkable catalog of award-winning titles.

One reviewer even said she’s “given at least 20 copies to friends,” and I would like to get the details on their reactions when receiving unsolicited gifts about curing constipation. The drawings in this book show it's very young readers that every older person uses a potty, a potty that is bigger than the one they are going to be using. The Bristol stool chart is an overarching indicator of how and why different types of poops look or feel a certain way. Using rhymes and fun illustrations, this book explains digestion to little kids using words they understand.

I've baked goose poop in an oven with my dinner, looked at bat poop under the microscope, and had my T-shirt stained pink with blue-whale poop. It starts by explaining why poop looks different based on the creature, how animals use it to communicate and survive, and what humans can learn about animals by studying poop! This book is a fun and funny children's book that helps kids realize that everyone poops (so you should not be embarrassed).

Overall, very informative and the drawings were good- would have been better (more authentic) if they'd been drawn by an actual child. file copy of this delightful from the publisher through a giveaway they recently had on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion. It’s the go-to book about poop for a reason – it’s educational, matter-of-fact, and a funny look at everything and everybody that poops. Indicates: This type of poop means you’re lacking fiber and should find ways to add some to your diet through cereal or vegetables.Children want to do what their favorite people or animals do and I love the way this story shows children the connection between themselves and the world. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree that life has never required, and at age 28, she sold everything she owned and quit corporate life—and her final "job"—to freelance and travel the world as she always dreamed of. The book is intended to relieve shame and embarrassment around the act of defecating by explaining to children that it is a natural part of life. It's pretty clear this book's target audience is for children of the potty training age and their parents, but I think my copy is a perfect addition to the casual reading section in my bathroom.

it was a great tool to use when I starred introducing the kids to potty learning, which can sometimes be a scary and complicated thing to comprehend. The book then goes on to explain how people of all ages, from adults to very young children, defecate, and how infants may use diapers. Organization: Not a typical science book, this book is designed to fit any size hand relatively easily and is filled with lots of illustrations. It was great to follow the food along on its journey (I was transported back to days spent reading Magic School Bus! And indeed she did--as part of a pair of scientific expeditions, one to Newfoundland at the age of eighteen and another to the Indian Ocean a year later. As the adult, I approve the mix of animal moms and dads depicted in the book — I appreciate books that have dads involved in basic care tasks.
