About this deal

With some experimentation, it's a quality microphone for streaming and recording, though if you're really serious about capturing your voice you might want to consider getting a dedicated USB microphone. In pure, naked audio terms the old Senny GAME ONE still sounds better, but despite a darker voicing these H6PROs are natural and flat, with a tight and unexaggerated bass response. The slightly de-emphasized highs mean the sounds of some strings and cymbals can be a little on the faint side, but I never ran into anything terribly noticeable.

If budget isn’t an issue, and you want something like the GSP 670, but a little more modern, check out the EPOS H3PRO Hybrid. My only other minor quibble with the design is that it uses a micro-USB, not USB-C charge input, which is a bit of a faff considering most hardware has moved to the newer standard. A lower weight is also an advantage for home appliances, as it makes transportation easier, and for many other types of products.

Warm’ gives a broadcast quality richness to a streamer’s performance, while the ‘Clear’ selection is ideal for clarity in the heat of battle. The GSP 670 is quite capable at playing music, which is unsurprising considering its Sennheiser pedigree. The padding and adjustable headband also make it quick and easy to get a comfortable fit, a fact aided by the fact they only weigh 398g. A chat volume dial can be found on the bottom edge of the right earcup, along with a programmable smart button that switches between equalizer presets by default. The GSP 670 supports quick charging over USB: after a 7-minute charge the headset can be used for 2 hours.

The GSP 670 uses the recipes of the GSP series headphones with a sound philosophy that is reminiscent of Sennheiser Hi-Fi headphones. Having the biggest issue of a product be fixable is reassuring, but it can be frustrating nonetheless. There's a little bit of history between the brand names and how it's all come to be under just the EPOS name now, but the bottom line is that Sennheiser's gaming audio has been folded into EPOS now - and the pedigree remains there. It will take a while to update our backlog of old test results, but we will update this review (and many others! Battery life is the only minor weak point with Senheisser’s quoted 20 hours Bluetooth, and 16 hours low-latency estimates proving a wee bit optimistic during testing. The GSP 670 is compatible with Windows PC and PlayStation consoles, making it a versatile option for gamers. While the GSP 670 seems bulky at first, the generous ear padding and clever weight sliders ensure a comfortable fit that lets you wear the headset for long gaming and listening sessions.
